First the positives....friendly staff. Lovely, interesting funky interior. Children/family friendly. We arrived for dinner early evening. Despite being Saturday, it was only around 6.30, so still early and kids still around. It is quite a big place, with a funky interior that feels special while still being informal. Food and drinks are ordered at the bar, which is fine. The staff who took the order was very friendly and remained so throughout the night. At least half an hour after the order was placed for food, nothing had arrived. Nothing too tricky....3 tapas dishes, salad and a mac & cheese side. Food probably took about 45mins to come out. The tapas dishes spanned the temperature range...the meatballs hot, tofu warm and chicken barely nearly cold. The mac & cheese was pale and had none of that crispy topping. Again lukewarm. Clearly the kitchen was struggling to get food out in reasonable speed and to a good quality. The staff who took the order came over to apologise for the wait and I felt bad for her. By now the restaurant was getting busy and hitting Saturday night peak. I could only imagine more people coming to the bar asking for their food. I don't blame the front of house staff or the kitchen. I blame the management for not putting on enough kitchen staff and having a ridiculously long menu that makes things more complicated, including an all-day breakfast and breakfast.

Unfortunately when I went they managed to lose my ticket and I had to wait around an hour for the food. Usually this would impact my review, however the staff gave a full refund for the meal, and were honest about what had happened and what they were doing. And I appreciated the way that they handled the situation. The milkshake was light and the tasted quite nice. I would definitely recommend it for anyone that visits. I would have liked the garlic bread to be a little more crisper on the outside, however it was still good. The ultimate chicken burger was good as well, it tastes pretty much like it is described as. I would have liked it if the brioche bun was toasted a bit longer and the chicken to have been cooked a bit less as it was a tad too dry. The pink lemonade was also a little too sweet for my tastes. Overall I would definitely recommend it. The staff and laid back atmosphere give this place a nice warm feeling. The food is good, and I would definitely recommend the milkshake.

Came in for a late lunch. The place wasn’t really full when we went in and was told we can seat anywhere. Picked this couch by the frames with a good wall light. Interior was beautiful. Loved all the portraits and other paintings. Love the mixed of colours. Beautiful chairs and tables. You can order by the bar or through a code by the table. Easy. We ordered: buttermilk fried chicken with sweet potato fries and pink lemonade, lounge breakfast and cappuccino and salt and pepper squid. Food came in right on time except mine (probably just a couple of minutes difference) the lady server politely apologised and offered an extra drink. I always passed by this place and will definitely come back again next time for breakfast!

Went here for the first time on Sunday afternoon. Despite the restaurant having been incredibly busy due to Reading Festival the staff were very fast, friendly and personable, and the food tasted great. The atmosphere was nice and we noticed the tables were being cleaned quickly and thoroughly after people had left. We brought a dog in with us and the waitress brought her over some water and some doggy treats. And we had a gluten allergy which was catered for with confidence with some great looking and tasting food from a huge gluten free menu. (Image is of the gluten free large breakfast). We will absolutely be going back, and our first impression was about as good as a first impression can possibly be.

This is one of our favourite places to visit, and, as we live nearby, we visit often. Keeping the country pub culture, dogs are allowed in and they also have books/board games you can “borrow” while you are inside. There is a bar with beer on tap and the usual selection of non/alcoholic beverages and my wife loves their coffee. The food is an interesting selection with all day breakfast options to burgers or sandwiches and more. It’s an unhurried, homely and friendly atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We tried many different dishes over the years and have found them to be tasty, and I am adding a few pictures from a recent visit.
