I went here after reading several different reviews. Maybe I was there at the wrong time, maybe I was the wrong completion, maybe I didn't understand something. But I went here to have dinner and was told that they were too busy and they had no seats. I wasn't given a wait time I was told, "We don't have any seats and we are too busy for take away." Yet because I am persistent I questioned again whether or not I could place an order to go. That is when another waitress came from the back and told me that she would ask the chef if he would do a take away order.
After coming out and saying that he would I placed my order and then was told that I should come back. The exact words were..'"Maybe you can take a walk for 10 mins and come back." No I do take in mind the place was small, but REALLY..COME BACK...they didn't even want me to stand there and wait for my food that I paid for. I was hungry and already having a bad day so I left out and came back, only to find 3 YES...THREE tables empty...WOW...it didn't matter at that point I didn't want to stay anyway...I took my food back to my hotel and found it to be LESS than appetizing!
The Food: Was dry, the pasta didn't have any seasoning The Price: Was average The Décor: Small and quaint, but I really wouldn't know because I was told to come back. The Staff: RUDE..thank goodness the young lady came out the back and felt sorry for the hungry...
Read moreSingle-handedly the worst pizza I've had I'm my life.
Firstly, the food arrived cold, which is absolutely unacceptable considering it took only 10 minutes via deliveroo from Caversham to central Reading.
Secondly, somehow the crust was burnt but the cheese was unmelted, how do you even manage that?
The "Garlic Bread" is literally just a fairly poor margarita pizza and all of the pizzas we ordered tonight were tough to chew.
And don't get me started on the meatballs, tasteless mush that was slathered in dull looking pizza sauce just see the attached images for the proof.
Avoid this place at all costs, order from Cozze instead, still close by and much better flavour, quality and heat.
Edit: somehow this order just got worse with the desserts, there is some kind of grey sludge at the bottom of both the desserts we ordered, could be from being defrosted, I have no way of knowing for sure, either way it has turned the actual desserts into a stodgy mess that just tastes bad, a truly terrible way to end a...
Read moreThis place claims to be a “ true Neapolitan pizzeria “, is the owner having a laugh ?.?. In a nutshell when I sat down the first question I asked is , “ have you got a wood fired oven?”, answer no we don’t but we have a Neapolitan chef working with an electric oven !!! Going on I thought I might give this place a chance , and when I did of course it was just another average pizza , dressed up as “ authentic , readings best pizza etc etc “.
I suggest this place starts by using a wood fired oven and learning the art of pizza making from the likes of pizzeria Santa Maria and 50 Kalo in London both of which offer you the true experience . The bottom line is that simply put there is no “true Neapolitan” pizzeria in Reading end of , and once again this is just like all other pizzerias...
