The Last Crumb in Reading is truly a hidden gem for burger enthusiasts like myself. This pub has quickly become my go-to spot for indulging in mouthwatering burgers and enjoying a fantastic selection of beers. The Last Crumb takes burger craftsmanship to a whole new level. The juicy pink patty cooked to perfection, oozing with flavor, was an absolute delight. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail truly shines through in every bite. Whether you prefer classic cheeseburgers or adventurous creations with unique toppings, The Last Crumb offers a variety of options that cater to all taste buds. As a beer lover, I was thrilled by the impressive selection of brews available at The Last Crumb. They have curated a thoughtful and diverse collection, ranging from local craft beers to international favorites. One of the highlights of The Last Crumb is their garden seating area. The ambiance is simply delightful, and a relaxed atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy your meal, especially during those warm summer evenings. To top it off, the pub plays great music that creates a lively and enjoyable backdrop. In conclusion, The Last Crumb is a true gem among Reading's pubs and burger places. With its unbeatable burgers boasting juicy pink patties, an extensive selection of beers, charming garden seating, and vibrant music, it ticks all the boxes for an exceptional pub experience. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

My experience at The Last Crumb was absolutely fantastic. This place impressed me in several ways and is definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. What caught my attention right away was the variety of seating options: indoor, outdoor, and a beautiful garden area upstairs. Each space had its own charm and atmosphere. The indoor area was beautifully designed with soft lighting and warm, cozy decor that made me feel calm and comfortable. The upstairs garden was also amazing—green, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing afternoon with friends or family. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. Everyone greeted us with smiles and took care of everything with great attention and care. The food was excellent. It was so delicious that I completely forgot to take a picture before eating! I only managed to snap a photo after I finished, which says a lot—it was that good! The only thing that could use some improvement was the parking situation. Although there was plenty of space (easily enough for 25 cars), there were no proper markings or lines, so people parked randomly. Because of that, only about 15 cars could fit. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I was satisfied with everything. Big thanks to the staff for their hard work. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place to others.

Another 're'review, as going up and down due to, what I assume to be, corporate decisions at Dodo Pubs. My review went to a single star when put all the prices up considerably, and removed Craft Ale. I am upping the food rating, now I have accepted the loss of the fabulous Dodo Burger (pink!), and Sloppy Napoli pizza ... The replacement Burger is OK, although the bun/patty a little small. The 'moo and blue' is quite tasty, and now burgers come with fries (IMO rosemary fries better than they used to be). As an Ale drinker, I am very happy with Siren Lumina (seems odd they don't sell their own Craft Ale more cheeply). Personally, I am not keen on fatty sliced meats on pizza, peperoni/chorizo/salami, thinly sliced for maximum coverage at low cost, but I guess they are popular. It is my favourite Caversham pub, outside, and in the summer (take a bit too long to open garden area in spring, close ut a bit too early later in year). Accoustics not good inside, so not great for winter.

Hi my previous star rating saved before I could complete it. I meant to explain the reason for my stars. The pub is a nice pub with a good atmosphere and the staff are helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we booked a table for a Christmas get together with a few friends and were asked for a £40 deposit that would come off the food bill. When we came to the pub and went to order we had to order from the app. however on the app you have we had to pay for the food at time of order and were advised there was no way to deduct the deposit from the food order as the app and the till system are not linked. We were then advised that we could use the deposit for drinks but unfortunately we had already bought £30 worth of drinks. As we were unable to get refund on the deposit my mates were forced (not exactly by gun point) to drink another £40 worth of booze. Although a bit of a first world problem it was none the less frustrating.

Another minor personal annoyances is that I just want to buy able to buy a whole meal. The food when it arrived was of good quality and tasty but if I go to a pub or restaurant I would like the main part of the meal to come with a side and garnish as a complete meal and preferably on its own plate rather than have to peel my burger of a tray :-) . I am not that old but I remember a time when in pubs and restaurants if you ordered a burger you got chips, salad and coleslaw with it rather than the budget airline model of making stuff you should have an extra cost. For example I ordered the Big D burger £10.50 and added Rosemary chips £3.50 Coleslaw £3.50. Just call if 15 quid and put it on a plate. Easy. That said these are definitely 1st world problems and as I write this I am having a proper word with myself about whether to hit the post button but this is Caversham darling. I appreciate that hospitality is surviving under tough conditions so hope this review is taken in the right context. Keep up the great work and stay safe and I am sure I will be back for a 5 star service in the future....

Like the previous reviewer I also visited The Last Crumb one evening with a friend, as I have done many times in the past, but two weeks later I received a notification from one of those dodgy private parking companies saying I hadn't obtained a permit to park in the pub car park. I have never had to get a permit in the past to park there, or in fact in any other pub car park I've ever visited. The staff made no mention of it, and although they say there were signs "everywhere", seeing as the pub was full for Quiz Night, I didn't notice any and neither did my friend who is a regular there. Having written to the pub I eventually received a fairly snotty reply saying that it was nothing to do with them and I'd have to contact the parking enforcement company directly. However, as the parking company are hired by the pub then The Last Crumb/Dodo Pub Co. certainly could contact them if they wanted to, to cancel the ticket, but they clearly can't be bothered to help out a genuine customer who has spent a good amount of money with them in the past. These parking companies don't have a legal leg to stand on and are nothing but bullies, so I will now be appealing, but it's a complete waste of my time when I have done absolutely nothing wrong. A real shame as I liked this place before, but won't be returning, or going to any Dodo Pub Co...
