George Allan Park and Strathaven Park were hard to differentiate. The whole area is just a very beautiful place to relax in. It has many amazing features. I believe it was voted 8th most beautiful park in UK. It also boasts the oldest miniature working Railway in the UK which recently celebrated 75 years in existence. Kids love it and there were more than a few big kids on it too with protruding knees.😂 There is a small pond with pedal boats, a victorian style bandstand and the delightful Barrie Shelter Cafeteria which may or may not at one time been an old scout hall🤔 The Cafeteria has a great selection of Main courses, sanwiches and toasties as well as, cakes,pastries tea and coffee. The folk who run it are fantastic. Only £1 per person aswell and they even accept card!
