We popped in here for lunch while at the Strathaven balloon festival. The food was fantastic, top quality toasties, delicious bread, the brisket just melted, different and delicious salads. The atmosphere was great, and despite being really busy with eat in and takeaway customers the staff were all cheerful and friendly. I even heard them talking about how lovely it was to be so busy and to see new faces, what a breath of fresh air. There's a plaque on the wall saying they are a living wage employer, maybe this explains the happy attitude of the staff, but I think it's more likely they're high on the delicious aroma of all the freshly baked goodies. Whatever it is I'm looking forward to returning, and I hope this fantastic business...
Read moreAwesome little place, long time since I have been in the common green, this place was super busy, not alot of seating but felt cosy, fast and polite service, food quality was perfect, stopped in for a quick breakfast with a friend. Felt like everyone here knew each other so that to me means it's very popular with the locals, good selection of food and drinks were also excellent, I sadly don't drink coffee but I have another friend that goes out of their way to buy coffee here, definetly different vibe to your Costa or Starbucks, feels more personal, less sterile, reminds me of the coffee shops in aus, if you want a hipster grind I suggest...
Read moreWhere to even start with this little rustic space of heaven. Food is superb, with vegan, vegetarian & gluten free options available. Soups are fun. You wouldn't think lentil and lemon would work or even lentil and coconut ... But by crikey it does!!! The baked goods are other worldly (you'll never try another cinnabun like it) the prices for quality and quantity is fab! And last but by no means least... the coffee?! I've yet to find a place that does better coffee than Theo. Not just in Strathaven. Anywhere.... I realise this review sees me rambling on and on and on...
