Having visited a few times unfortunately on this occasion there was a limited choice on menu that suited our family. Not the restaurant fault but these things happen. The menu is £26 or £28 for two course and £31 for three, which you can see a sample online, although with outdated prices. The children menu was fine for our youngest and good choice but previously the portions were a bit on the small side for our older daughter (10) so she had the margherita pizza from the main as did my wife. I enjoyed my starter with the rest of my family looking to order a main and dessert. However it was frustrating having to try and catch a servers eye to ask for more drinks or condiments for the table. Unfortunately the lack of staff attentiveness continued, as we waited almost 20 minutes for our mains to be cleared. The table beside us had finished at the same time, they had paid the bill, left and staff had cleared the plates and cleaned the table, all whilst we were waiting for ours plates with napkins sitting in them, to be taken away and to order desserts. Friends at the table behind us, who finished their meal after us, also had their table cleared and cleaned after they had paid and left, again while we still sat with our plates. Eventually a server came and cleared our plates but didn’t offer the menu for my family to select a dessert. We waited another few minutes then we decided that we had waited long enough, so my family left and I stood at the bar area to pay the bill. This was when I found out that 1 course off the menu is £22, so two pizzas £44. I highlighted my disappointed but was only met with a smile and shrug. We have enjoyed the restaurant previously but unfortunately this experience will make it difficult to return. Update - the owner reached out and wished to understand our experience. They took the time to understand our issues and acknowledged my disappointment. Based on the care they have for their business and wishing to make matters right we will...
Read moreAfter multiple visits to this fine establishment I have got round to leaving a review. We visited last night and it was just as memorable and enjoyable as each previous visit. The food was sublime. I started with the duck ragu tagliatelle crispy skin and parmesan. It was stunning. Pasta cooked perfectly a beautifully balanced ragu and the texture and flavour on the skin was amazing. Main course I had the crab linguine. Again the pasta was cooked to perfection and a cracking balance of flavour and spice. Crab and chorizo is not something I would have thought of combining but it sooo works. When you got a mouthful of both at the same time it sublime. The more it ate the dish the more intense the favours got. I accompanied it with a bottle of Italian Appassimento. A stunning wine which I would wholly recommend. I've had it on a few occasions and it is excellent and was a perfect partner for the dishes. At £22 for 2 dishes and £27 for 3 this is excellent value for money The atmosphere is great and the staff on each occasion have been wonderful. A big shout out to Suzanne, who was serving our table last night. Her knowledge of the wines and spirits was exceptional. She gave us good advice on the list, although I already knew what I wanted🤣🍷and made a great recommendation on the white wine. She offered to decant the red and advised letting it breath for 10/15 minutes. I have not been offered that in years and it made such a difference. She was super attentive, efficient and friendly, as are all the staff. Overall a 5 star experience and I can't wait until...
Read moreI was invited to have lunch yesterday in this delightful restaurant. I was first struck with how cosy and warm the place was having come in from the cold. We were greeted by Kirsty who was lovely, very welcoming and friendly and led us to our table. The place was very busy and people were clearly having a lovely time.
The menus were amazing and given it was Christmas we settled for the festive lunch menu. The pate was delicious and to die for, the turkey with trimmings was fantastic with the most delicious flavours and attention to detail (especially the potatoes) and we had a plentiful plate. What I should say is the we sampled the “snacks” whilst waiting for our food. The crispy Lasagne bites were gorgeous as was the breaded Brie, mmmmm! You will be hard pressed to taste better Focaccia bread, this was absolutely fabulous and I recommend that you give it a try.
The chef Stuart stopped by the table where we could congratulate him on a fabulous lunch, amazing service from friendly staff and a very nice ambiance.
I loved this place and will be back….soon! Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a visit, I assure you, you will...
