Best curry we've had in ages!!!!
Booked this restaurant for the second night of our Babymoon stay in Strathaven and it didn't disappoint! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant itself is very modern with a traditional twist.
We were spoiled for choice as the menu had a lot to offer and the smell of the food cooking made me want to sample everything!
My partner decided on the Aloo Chana Poori for starters and I got the Mushroom Poori and then for our mains my partner got the Chicken Tikka Makhani Masala and I opted for the Chicken Tikka Punjabi Farms which had a lovely little kick to it! We went for plain pilau rice and and a Garlic Naan bread for the sides which was huge!!! The waiter described it as the size of an Elephants ear and he was not far wrong!!!
Absolutely delicious meal from start to finish, would 100% recommend and would definitely visit again if we ever came back...

Also ordered MILD butter chicken which is my normal order but this was NOT butter chicken as there were capsicums in it which are not normally in it and again was way too hot and spicy to eat so both curries went to the bin. I've been very disappointed with Taal over the past few months. Ordered twice in November and both times chicken was cold and I had to heat it so I could eat it. One of the times I ordered plain naan I got one with coconut on it - I'm allergic to all types of nut including coconut so straight to the bin with that. Last few times I've had had to chase delivery and one in particular took 2 hours and it was only delivered after I called asking where the order was only to be told it was sitting there and they had forgotten about it. Will be a while before I use...
Read moreWe visited Strathaven for the Hot Air Balloon Festival and came across Taal Indian Restaurant for dinner. The ambience was nice and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
For starters, we ordered Mumbai Chicken, Chicken Tikka, and Paneer Tikka, all were delicious with a rich Punjabi flavour. For the mains, we had Paneer Jalandhari, Chicken Jalfrezi, Garlic Naan, Chicken Biryani, and Paneer Biryani. The Paneer Jalandhari was tasty, but the Chicken Jaipuri didn’t quite hit the mark. The food took about 30 minutes to be served, but it was fresh and well-prepared.
We also tried the Mango Lassi, which was refreshing and absolutely delicious.
Overall, a good dining experience, tasty starters, flavourful food, and great service. Would happily recommend, though there’s a little room for...
