John Hastie Park — Attraction in Scotland

Living in Strathaven this is a regular place to go, especially when the grandkids visit, or doggy watching for family. Plenty for the kids to do with a couple of play areas for various ages, plus outdoor gym which seems to largely attract the kids too. There's also a boating pond, putting, bouncy castle and other things. Highlight for some on summer weekends is the miniature railway. For the adults there is a bowling green and tennis courts. Varieties of fun zones for kids reasonably priced. Attractions suitable for different age groups from vintage cars to kids playzones. Live music and artists by the hot air balloon zone, variety of eataries are few to name. Get there in plenty time as parking lot was full just after midday. Friendly neighbourhood sorted out the grid lock traffic hats off to them. Few even offered parking space in their front yard such a great community.

Overall good family...

Model Engineering at its best with the miniature railway running live steam. Good for young kids to have a ride. Great wee well used park with putting, tennis and a small boating lake plus a large play area. Visited today 01/03/2022 and the boating pond which was emptied last year due to blossom was being re filled at last. Noticed the lovely newish carved wood birds...
