The outside of this hotel belies the inside. It looks like a derelict blot on the landscape, but once inside, it's not too bad at all. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the public areas are nicely kept and the staff are friendly and helpful. We have been visiting annually for over 10 years and have watched it rebrand from Ramada Plaza to Bliss to The Waterfront. Each change has resulted in something being lost.... the fridges in rooms came out when it transformed to the Bliss. The Waterfront has simply destroyed the prestigious appearance externally - it hasn't even got it's name displayed on the outside of the building. The stone work is filthy, the windows are so dirty you can hardly see out of them. Having said all this, we have just spent a pleasant couple of nights here, and it really is still okay 👍 I would like to also point out, that in the 10 + years we have been visiting, the rooms have still got the same curtains, same colour scheme and decor (although I imagine that the walls have been slapped with paint several times as they don't appear dirty 😀) !!! Overall, a steady decline, but the location, clean rooms, and staff provide a very positive experience 👍

This hotel seems quite badly promoted, it doesn't appear on Google Maps until you zoom right in. The location is Excellent! Lovely views across the lake to Blackpool. The room I had 508 was really comfortable with plenty of room. There were some small issues, they need a card to fill in at the end of your stay to pick up any niggles. The ironing board was broken where the plate to sit the iron on is fixed on. The TV tells you to press the round TV button on the remote - there isn't one! The towel hanger near the bathroom door is hanging out of the wall. The bath gel dispenser doesn't dispense until 10 minutes after you pressed it then you have an empty bath full of bath gel. The hand wash dispenser by the sink leaks gently. However these are all minor things and it is a really lovely place to stay. The staff are really friendly. There is plenty of space to meet your friends at the hotel. There is car parking under the hotel, simply turn into Lower Promenade and follow the road round to the left and the car park is right in front of you. I have stayed here a few times over the years and it would be my hotel of choice in Southport.

The Waterfront Hotel is obviously on the front at Southport and it sits on the main road and overlooks the lake and the famous pier. The Underground carparking is excellent with a lift and has an adjoining car park next to it.Our room was nice, spacious, good shower with bath and we had lovely views of the lake and Blackpool tower in the distance. We had a really special weekend with dinner, cocktails, and a boat trip thrown in and there was a wedding going on aswell which livened things up a bit. Our two course meal was served in the restaurant and was plentyful with some nice desserts on offer. They were slightly understaffed but our waitress JESS was excellent and really looked after us.After dinner you can spend time on the terrace or in the fab lounge and just chill out.The breakfast is buffet style, you choose a time slot and there's plenty of staff to help you out.A great Hotel, the outside needs a bit of TLC but it maybe changing hands at sometime.loved it.

Let's start with the room.Spacious rooms, with its own wall temp stat.Nicely laid out can't complain.Very clean. Good shower pressure and temperature. Great large TV at the bottom of your bed and a lovely little tea service in your room. Plenty of closet space sliding wardrobes comes with ironing board and iron. The dressing table comes with a hairdryer in. Main reception classy nice friendly staff. The hotel has long corridors, so no doors are separating like your travel lodges. Comfortable stay. The room I stayed in i thought wasn't very feminine coloured brown with one curtain that didn't work. Hotel boasts its sea views....however i had an industrial one! Disappointing. Loud traffic in the morning. Breakfast was amazing...continental full English...help yourself in the restaurant couldn't of asked for more. The hotel has its own car park...so you can park safely, and it's well lit and sign posted.

The Waterfront hotel is such a lovely hotel which ever side of the hotel you stay on the views are lovely, the rooms are very spacious and the beds are so comfy as well as the bathrooms being spotlessly clean and lovely fluffy towels. If I ever go to Southport we always stay at this hotel we have never been disappointed in any way. As well as the hotel being so nice the staff go out of there way to help in every way they can, I’ve had a few health problems and Rick has always helped us to our room with our luggage and always made us feel very welcome even the staff on reception ( Rhonda ) make sure we get a quiet room and always greeted with a smile no matter what time of day. We always look forward to visiting this hotel, because we know everything is always perfect thanks so much everyone pat and Jon xxx
