Gr8 pittstop for a snack and drink for visitors and locals, young and old. With a resident singer, it's a jolly, enjoyable place to sit and enjoy the view of Marine Lake. Central to the amusements, bowling and fairground

We visited today and couldn’t believe the service which was absolutely diabolical. We waited for over an hour to be served so we ordered our food with our first drink that also ended up being the last . Our food arrived some was wrong and not what we ordered but could see they where clearly very busy so just ate what had been delivered as didn’t fancy another hour wait . We then tried for two hours constantly trying to attract the attention of the staff for another drink without avail . The entertainment is spot on and can’t complain at all about this. The Elvis impersonator is to a very high standard . We did question ourselves if he was really the real Elvis hiding in Southport 😂 After two hours of trying and repeatedly asking can we please be served I decided to ask to speak to the manager . I was told he was the chap sat outside the door in a blue shirt. I approached him and asked politely if he was the manager 🤔 he said why ? I said I’ve just been told from another member of staff you are . I politely and very calmly said that we had had our lunch there and it took over an hour for us to be served (not mentioning it was wrong) then said that we had been for the last two hours trying to attach staff and order a drink to be constantly told they are dealing with other orders and would come to us 🤷🏻‍♀️ He was rude and not very helpful at all and just carried on drinking his pint 🤬there is no routine or organisation of the tables and order service etc staff just seem to serve everyone sat in the middle and not to the sides . Some sort of rota system should at least be in place with staff serving left middle and right sides of the tables etc and maybe customers would stand more of a chance to get served . And before anyone comments well why did you wait so long then in the first place 🤔 it was because we where enjoying the entertainment which was as always superb but the service and manners of most of the staff was appalling. All apart from one who told us that he couldn’t go back and ask for some of our order of food we where waiting on or he’d get shouted at . Such a shame for a great place in a prime location but clearly they need to sort out the staffing levels and Managment in dealing with customers and need retraining in...

We visited Southport yesterday on our annual trip from the care home in which I work. We dined elsewhere are prearranged however we were drawn in by what looked like a great atmosphere and live entertainment here at the marine lake cafe & bar. Baring in mind we had just eaten, our residents were more than happy to just sit outside, enjoying the sea breeze with a variety of coffee, larger and ice cream totally engrossed with the live act. After 10 minutes we were approached by the owner of the cafe and abruptly asked "are you going to buy something" to which I replied "our residents have got coffees, us staff don't want a drink" we received the most evil look and off he trotted, only to be overheard asking not 1, not 2 but 3 members of staff (in the space of approximately 15 minutes) if we had purchased from the bar!! Feeling rather uncomfortable with the constant glares and daggers my colleague approached him and asked if there was a problem, to which he stated "you should have dined with us, we're cheaper and better" my colegue explained not all our residents wished to drink however coffees and ice creams had also been purchased. This was immediately brushed off and he continued to make our party feel uncomfortable, our residents began to feel the tension so we got up to leave. The rude man then came over and said "you can use the spasticated toilet if you want before you leave" put his phone number in my colleagues hand and told her "book with us next time and you'll get a warm welcome and discount" So.. In a nutshell I would avoid this venue at all costs. The staff are rude and purposely make you feel uncomfortable if you're not spending your week's wages there, the coffees were over priced with little to no taste and the...

Went here yesterday as was on a day trip waited 20 minutes in the que for a coffee there was an old man serving who was been very rude to people obviously lacking people skills didn't take to much notice as there was people arguing with another member of staff as there beers were flat, also a lady parading up and down behind the bar doing nothing just looking amused. Right got to my turn and asked the man for a coffee 3 times as he was been vile with me only to be told to go to the back of the queue and wait I told him it was my turn as the couples next to me agreed and also the lady behind me.... Thats when he really got started on me told me again to go to the back of the que and he would serve me if he felt like it??? Obviously everyone was looking and were disgusted as for me I was totally imbarresed and told him to shove his coffee up his arse and left.... Outside some of the people came over to see if I was okay and also to tell me the vile little man then announced that's how you get the que down. You really need to sort your act out and don't deserve people's money keep away if you have any sense also read the bad reviews on tripadvisor as the vile little man with the little man syndrome is...
