It all felt lovely when we went in but it quickly soured. There were no hand washing facilities on site, as the toilet was 'out of order' and due to 'health and safety' they wouldn't let me go an wash my hands, as it was 'horrible in there'. However, they seemed to be storing things for customer use in there, so it didn't add up. But really it was the rudeness of the woman who told me this that was awful, rather than the message itself. (of course we also made a film of our day, you can watch that here:...
Read moreThis is a superb venue, a local treasure. The food is made to order, and it is always superb. Cold foods are always made daily, and the prices are kept low, too. The staff are brilliant, the venue is clean and tidy, and it is usually open 7 days a week, often from 8 am onwards. There is even a pet menu, too, and pets are allowed into the venue if well behaved. There is outdoor seating and table service, and seasonally, there is an outside servery usually for ice creams. It is located in the castle grounds opposite the play area and within walking distance of several car parks and the toilets as well as the bowling alley and Ankerside...
