On arrival we were met by staff (Kate - Katie?) and as I'm in a wheelchair we were allowed to park within the front area of the hall. We were taken through the entrance and given a map of the sculptures. It was a bit hard work for my husband pushing my wheelchair over the gravel and grass paths - but we managed!! Very impressed with the layout and exhibits, thoroughly enjoyed working them out! Some very obvious others a bit obscure - I loved the Still Dancers and also Twisted, Tear Drop, Crab - all wonderful and no doubt interpreted in different ways!! The setting of Thirsk Hall as the backdrop was great - and we loved being able to just meander around - a perfect afternoon out!! We had a lovely chat with Kate (Katie) who met us as we finished and we talked about the exhibition and what prompted them to do this open air display and also future plans, and we'll certainly be back when new exhibits come in. A definite hidden gem, but a lovely experience and my thanks to all the staff for making our visit a great, friendly experience....

The day we went was really sunny, so walking around the grounds was really hot. If unusual statues and exhibits are your thing, then you will like the garden. We especially liked the tubs of ice cream after to cool down, which was purchased from the gift shop where we paid for our tickets before we left. The staff were lovely. Only open at the moment from Wednesday to Saturday...
Read moreGreat place, we really enjoyed our visit. Not busy at all when visiting on s sunny Saturday in May. We stayed for about an hour and a half. The shop sells only a few snacks so I'm glad we brought a small picnic so found a nice spot to have it. Loved the sculptures though didn't really like the blobs of metal so much. Good place for a leisurely walk around. Still in it's early days I feel but still really worth going. Thank to to the hall and curators for...
