We have visited this park twice, I personally wouldn't go back. Today was hell, full swing summer holidays and 30 degree heat! Definitely avoid the little swimming pool area completely as it's permanently filthy, it stinks of urine, the water is brown, a free for all where parents sit on their phones and kids run riot, dangerously overcrowded and no member of staff to be seen. This really needs a life guard or similar even though it's not deep, to stop pushing, dangerous objects taken into the water, big people treading on little people, general grime addressed and cleaned throughout the day. All toilets from men's to women's and disabled are old and run down, absolutely filthy on every visit, seats hanging off, nearly all blocked, no loo roll, hand washing stations barely work, disabled toilet is old and wooden, all cracked and full of germs! You can never get a car parking space, have to drive down the road to the over flow then walk up over the bridge. The first section of the park is lovely with flowers and benches but that's where it ends. The fair ground is ran by moody teenage boys who don't want to be there, they are unprofessional, sit on their phones, chat about unsavoury topics, no manners, and I'm not sure how any of them got a job.....? There was a soiled nappy explosion left on the floor in the car park, rubbish and food all over the grass. We travel over from a neighbouring place as Warwick is said to be more up market and well kept but this is laughable, it seems to be a new ghetto full of swearing parents, ones who don't even look up while their little angel is on the war path and some who think the...
Read moreSt Nicholas Park is a great time out, especially within the summer months when it is hot. For a park within a small town, there is a considerable amount of activities to benefit any family. The park consists of a ton of play equipment for younger children, There is a small outdoor arcade/Mop with rides and games to win small prizes and tokens. On the grounds there is a leasure centre with swimming pools, tennis courts and outdoor astro turf football cages. Bench seating is available around the park. A small shack to which you can buy refreshments and ice creams. Outside the shack is outdoor and a small amount of indoor seating, a small stone built stream running near by with a small bridge to walk over. The park also benefits from a small skate park free to use, small outdoor paddling pool which is also free and as the river Avon flows through the grounds, you can also hire an aray of different family friendly boats at a small insite boat yard and use the river to head towards the back of Warwick Castle to get some stunning pictures. Close to the Park is Warwick Town and Smith St so all immunities are close enough to comfortably walk. An on site car park is available. Not free. Toilets available. Over all a great experience for any outdoor lover looking for a friendly park for all to enjoy with lots to do. - Photos of views of Warwick Castle from a hired out...
Read moreThe 3 star rating I have given this park does not reflect my true feelings of the park just be clear!
The park is immaculate with so much to do for the family. You can easily spend your entire day here when the weather is glorious. There's so much to do for the whole family. The fun fair the water park the lovely and by the looks of it recently maintained play area had our kids going for 4 hours.
Unfortunately the condition of the toilets as they stand now were what swayed my rating to a 3. They require some investment I feel to make the rating better. There was no baby changing facilities that I could see in the men's toilets with the disabled toilets locked. Again I'm not sure that there were any in there. Now I know that most of the time you would just probably just change them where Ur picnicking on the fields or where ever you are picnicking but I felt this isn't ideal for those of us parents or grandparents that may struggle to bend or crouch.
Other than that it's absolutely amazing and for those of us that are bridgeton fans I'm sure that you could use your imagination to pretend you were members of the ton strowling through this beautiful picturesque park arms linked with your fancy brollie shielding you from...
