CupCake Lane — Restaurant in Wolverhampton

Not impressed. Extremely cramped. (I was sat next to the vacuum cleaner!!) Cold and very uninviting. I had what was apparently described as a quiche lorraine, what I recieved was melted cheese on soggy pastry. Cheese omelette??? How on earth you could describe what we recieved as a omelette I have no idea. Another member of our party had filthy ccutlery. There were 7 of us altogether, 6 meals came out at the same time and the 7th arrived 15 minutes later. The place is cluttered with completely unnecessary furniture and space could be used more effeciently. I have been in the catering industry for over 25 years and if I could give you a little advice, if you don't have the equipment to produce your menu, CHANGE your menu. This place is a little gem. My daughter found it by chance looking for a treat For her grandmother's birthday. We went for afternoon tea and it was delicious. The tea room has a vintage feel and is very welcoming. The staff were very warm and attentive. We were seated at our table for 4 and asked what we wanted to drink by a lovely young lady. My youngest daughter didn't want tea so the searcher told everything else avaliable. We were then presented with a 2 tier tray of sandwiches, crisps, salds, home made cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam. We also had strawberries and dipping chocolate. I can not believe this little gem has been on my doorstep for so long and I didn't know. Went today for the first time today and I was blown away by how picturesque this little cafe is. Not only was the decor warm, inviting and just beautiful, but they were playing what sounded like 30s/40s music which really set the atmosphere of this characteristic little place. It was like a time capsule, and looking out onto the nature trail was just the icing on the cake. The cakes looked stunning and the food all smelt divine. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Prices were reasonable too! I could've sat on the outside terrace for hours and hours in peaceful bliss. It was raining but well sheltered. Can not wait to...
