This place is Awesome, very impressed with the complex, and had a great time visiting this place...I've never been to a Presidential Library before, or seen his grave so this place gets a 10 out of 10 for sure... With so much history going on in Abilene from its cow-town days people often forget that this where a United States president grew up and chose to be buried.
Inside the Eisenhower Presidential Center there is much to do, and even more to see. Start by visiting Ike's Boyhood home, then stroll over to the Presidential Museum. Walking across the massive courtyard you will come face to face with General Dwight D. Eisemhower's 11 ft Bronze Sculpture. (Take a moment to pay respect and give a Salute). Next venture over to the Presidential Library, and end with seeing a Place of Meditation, which is the church like style building that President Eisenhower chose to spend his eternity... It's not everyday you see something that's truly Presidential so I recommend coming to see this remarkable historic landmark in plain old...
Read morePresident Eisenhower's Museum/Library illustrates his life verbatim: cultured, peaceful, perennial, and patriotic. I wish that I had more time to explore every inch of the property in its entirety; Eisenhower's life was captivating. It could be a more child-friendly museum due to the period of his presidency. There are videos and interactive elements sprinkled throughout the property, but most of the information requires reading. Start at the Vistors Center to purchase tickets. Check out the library, Eisenhowers's childhood home, the place of meditation, and the rest of the property. I lucked out, and I toured the place alone on a Tuesday. It was so slow the security guards followed me around to entertain themselves. I don't think I'll take a special trip out in the middle of Kansas again, but If you're passing Abilene, stop by for a few hours and thoroughly enjoy...
Read moreThe Eisenhower Presidential Museum is exceptionally well done — the exhibits, storytelling, artifacts, and layout all work together seamlessly to walk you through Ike’s life and legacy in a compelling and accessible way. The staff was friendly and let visitors explore at their own pace without hovering, which I appreciated.
Admission was absolutely worth it, especially considering the quality and depth of the presentation. Parking was easy, and the overall flow of the museum made it simple to move from one era of Eisenhower’s life to the next without feeling crowded or rushed.
I highly recommend this stop for history buffs, families, veterans, students, and travelers passing through. Whether you’re deeply familiar with Ike’s story or just curious, you’ll walk away with a new appreciation for one of America’s most...
