I found this bar online, searching for a place to take my husband on his birthday after dinner at Martinelli's in Salina (that's a whole other review--that place never disappoints!!). Hickock's has good pub food and excellent, friendly & accurate bar service. We had a wonderful time listening to the free live music (no cover charge!) provided by the Soul Preachers band. They've got 'it'!! All tables were absolutely packed, but the friendly crowd was willing to make room for 'city folk'. Hickock's is a gem on the prairie for a bit of night life.

Visited them on opening night. They had a great crowd and were busy. I ordered a full of the brisket with two sides (wild west slaw and fire pit corn) and my wife ordered a half Wood-Fired chicken with one side(trail style green beans). The BBQ and drinks were phenomenal. The fire pit corn was not what I was expecting. It was a little spicy but not to my liking. Cheers to them for their performance on opening night! Go give them a try, you won't be disappointed! We'll see you again soon!

Waited 50 minutes before even receiving our appetizer. Once we got our meals, everything was cold unfortunately. None of the food was even remotely warm. Food is not worth waiting almost an hour. Had to ask for silverware and napkins, and we were given a plastic fork and one napkin per person. Fries and cheese curds were good but were probably made frozen. Will not be coming back.

First, I want to thank the owners of The Hickok for offering a free veteran's meal for Veteran's Day today. We weren't expecting a whole lot due to it being a new place. I ordered the pulled pork and chuck wagon Mac & cheese as the side and had original BBQ sauce. My boyfriend had their burger and fries with their honey bourbon bbq sauce. All the food was fantastic. Our waitress was attentive and dealt with me asking a bunch of questions about the menu. The only suggestion I would make is to describe some menu items on the menu so if customers are too shy to ask what they are, they don't miss out. Overall, great experience, fast and friendly service, and reasonably priced food. Also OPEN ON MONDAYS! That's a rarity in Abilene! Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a new place to eat! We will...

Saw the 5 Star review and chose to give it a try, thinking lunch would be a quick in and out. Not so. The servers did what they could but there was an obvious kitchen problem. From arrival time until we received food was over 50 minutes. The food was ok, but not outstanding. Pinto beans were not necessarily bar b que. They were spicy hot, too hot to finish. Pulled pork tasted fine and was tender. A few pieces of fat to discard. Although a new establishment, upon entering there was a musty smell. The server shared as we paid they were hoping to get another cook. It's a promising business, but there is room for improvement. Wish them well. I'm not fond of okra, but the pickled version was pretty good, all be it...

I went during the day a week ago and it was awesome. Went tonight at 730 and it was terrible. The bar tender vaped behind the bar. Tried to serve a beer to me that had tap issues and ran her bare hand down the glass from the rim down. Got our food and it was ice cold. My son and husband ordered a Heffer and a bull pulled pork that were both the same size cold and excessive slaw and same ammont of meat on each. My burger was ice cold. All three if us ordered Mac n cheese and all three were ice cold. I paid for my drinks and left. Didn't seem to bother the staff at all. So sad. I care...
