They have signs posted all over at every table say any alterations to the menu items will result in a fee, well guess what, that also means if you remove an item from the menu item you still get a fee. The dish came with rice and beans on the side and we just asked to not have the rice and it resulted in a two dollar fee. According to my calculations the bill should’ve been about $50 and it came to $70 ….? But then again even after all the math classes I’ve taken maybe my math was just off. The quesadilla tasted like leftovers, there is no way that I am wrong when I state, that quesadilla was pre made and reheated, it was gummy and cold yet the meat (shrimp) part was warm. The burritos were described in the menu as covered with cheese yet there was a mere sprinkle of perhaps maybe 10 pieces of shredded cheese on top. I was mind blown to realize the fries on the kids dish’s were indeed, the worst fries I have ever eaten. I can only describe the fries as, if you went down to your freezer pulled out a bag of plain fries and just started eating frozen fries, still frozen, that’s the closest I could get to describing the fries. Their fries were not frozen of course literally but they were bad, (and probably did come from a freezer). The place was dirty, there were flies everywhere, we had to fight for our tasteless food against the flies. The salad was sad…. just thrown together with toco scraps. Idk, I thought it would be fun going there, it looks nice, but now I feel like we waisted one of our dinner nights while we’re in town, we should have...

We typically dine at the La Fiesta in Junction City but decided to try the Abilene location while we were in town. This was our first experience and is our last. I'm a pretty patient guy but this visit pushed me to my limit. The restaurant was fairly busy but we were seated rather quickly. We ordered drinks that took 20 minutes to arrive and then they finally took our order. Two tacos with rice and chicken with rice. 45 minutes later we finally received our food after 3 tables who came after us received their food. My tacos had 2 little pieces of meat so I had to combine both to make one decent taco. The rice was fine. The chicken and rice plate was mediocre at best. Our server apologized but it was too late at that point. We left after 1.5 hours and will never be back to this location. It's too bad too because La Fiesta typically has great food. My suggestion? Just visit Junction City because they get you in and out while providing delicious food....

Daughter and I went out of town to Abilene for lunch. Just a little getaway from the norm here in JC. What a disappointment! She orders a burrito 🌯 which was NOT a burrito. It was a taco. If your menu reads, BURRITO, your food should be wrapped in a tortilla. What she received was a TACO. TACOS are either hard shelled 🌮 or soft. The beans...disgusting! If I wanted the taste of metal, I could have bought some CANNED BEANS myself, at the store. I ordered Enchiladas Suizas and they didn't have enough meat, cheese or sauce! Maybe you all in Abilene are good with this nasty food but this is definitely worse than the food at La Fiesta in Junction City! The waitress didn't seem very eager to earn a tip until the end of our meal when she finally decided to refill our waters. Let's just leave it at that! Subpar service for terrible food! I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THIS...

Well to be honest, we had high expectations from the get go because how can you screw up mexican food? There wasn't a website so we couldn't look up a menu but some of the reviews seemed promising. Service was ok. Not much of a personality from the waitress. Food did come out fast so that's a plus but the special of the night "shrimp tacos" was literally 3 shrimp in 3 flour tortillas with some rice and lettuce. The Santos burrito wasn't anything special with plain ground beef and plain cheese sauce. The happy hour was decent with 1/2 price beers. That was the best part. All in all, set your expectations low and it might be ok.

Not a ton of places to choose from in Abilene but this was within walking distance to our B&B so we went for it. They close early at 8pm (because I think Abilene closes early). I had the tamales which were pretty good. The soft shell beef tacos were good. We had the fried ice cream... I'd pass next time. Tasted stale and they were stingy with the chocolate sauce.

This restaurant has been in Abilene for along time. It is not what it used to be with the food quality not remaining the same form time to time. Its an ok dive. EDIT 5/28/24 Meal was not good. I think it's time to stop coming here. Empty glass on my table for over 15 min. I was one of two tables that had people in it
