This is a must see hidden gem of Abilene. Provides a detailed look at early days of telephony and how the evolution of telephones until digital/cellular telephones. A great display and can be looked at up close from non-electrical phones of the 1870s, through early automatic switching and more modern features. If you have an interest in telephone communications, you need to stop and see it. Note: It is part of the Dickinson County Historical facility, so it is not a standalone facility, but a wing of the museum complex.

Part of a larger historical museum, and a great historic destination for people visiting Abilene. A surprisingly thorough history, with pleasant volunteer staff who are proud of the museum.

This place is very fun! Get to ride a very old over 100 year carousel. There is a museum that you can look at old day artifacts. Very entertaining for tourist.

We just happened to stumble upon this gem on our travels. Incredible history with great displays, a ride on a carousel, and a mini-walk through a quaint faux town set-up in back of the museum. Our children (ages 4 & 7) were thrilled. So many "hands-on" experiences. They have a heritage festival in the fall-something we would consider traveling back into the area to visit....

Very affordable admission price. You can learn all about the history of the telephone. This museum also has the Dickinson county Kansas museum on the same building. You can learn about the wild west history of Abilene Kansas. The museum also has a CW Parker merry go round that you can ride on. If you love history this...
