Absolutely Horrible Experience – Missing Items, Racism, and Zero Accountability!
I went into Uptown Cheapskate Addison to sell some of my Lululemon items. I brought in 15 pieces, they bought 6 items for $48, and when I got home, I realized I only had 5 items left in my bag. That means 4 pairs of leggings mysteriously disappeared. When I called the store to ask about this, the associate who answered was completely useless, dismissive, and acted like I was bothering her just for wanting to know what happened to my property. I’m still waiting on a call back days later. But that wasn’t even the worst part. While I was waiting in the store, I overheard the so-called “manager” (an older Caucasian woman) talking with her associate. She said someone was “sweet as pie,” and when I smiled thinking they were talking about me, the associate asked “which one?” and pointed at me and another woman. When she pointed to me, the “manager” said, “oh no, not her, the white one.” I was stunned. I am Hispanic, and for her to openly reduce someone’s worth or identity down to their race in front of customers is absolutely disgusting. Then I watched as an Asian couple came in to sell clothes. The manager rudely told them she had hit her “cash quota” and they could only get store credit. The couple was confused and asked questions, but she dismissed them rudely until they gave up and left. Not five minutes later, a young white girl walked in with clothes and the manager happily handed her cash—no mention of quotas, no mention of store credit. The double standard and blatant discrimination were appalling. This location is toxic, unprofessional, and flat-out racist. They steal from customers, they lie, they treat people of color differently, and they don’t even try to hide it. I will NEVER step foot in this store again and I urge anyone who doesn’t support blatant racism and shady practices to stay far away. There are plenty of resale stores in the area—don’t waste your time or...
Read moreFirst time selling here and it was a terrible experience. The owner/manager (she was handling the buying counter) is a rude lady that does not know how to treat her customers and lies to ppl to keep items for her store. I dropped off two items around 2:00pm and couldn’t stay so I told the young Hispanic girl I would come back to pick up item before they closed if I declined the offer. I showed up at 6:00pm to pick up my items since I wasn’t going to take $29 dollars for name brand mens boots and mens levis jeans, that were both in new condition. I show up and the manager/owner lady (didn’t get her name but she’s an older white female with blonde hair) gave me my receipt with the offer and I told her I wasn’t going to accept the offer and that I was picking up my items. She then said that apparently when u drop off items you are turning them over to them to keep regardless if you like the offer or not. She said it was even stated on the receipt. Which is a total lie! I have uploaded a copy of my receipt and it clearly states “if they have not heard from you by 7pm they will compete the sale and at that point you will not have the option of reclaiming these items or declining the offer”. She is such a liar, I was there at 6:00pm to pick up my items. I told her I wanted my items and that I would never return to her store after such a terrible experience. They don’t even walk you through the process when you drop off your items and expect u to know how they handle the buying of your items. After reading the one star reviews it looks like I’m not the first or last person she has been rude to. I will never come back to this...
Read moreWent in to sell some clothes because I needed money. Noticed a pair of shoes in the WOMEN'S SECTION that I knew my WIFE would like and her work shoes had just worn a hole in them so she needs some. When I saw that they were exact size 7 and her favorite color I knew I had to get them for her. So I went to the counter to check out. I sold the clothes outright and bought the shoes with part of the money. Well, when I get home to the wife she tries them on and they're practically 1-1/2 sizes too big. I quickly Google the exact shoe only to find out they're MENS shoes. These were in the women's section of the store and the tag said "women's" on it. They were sold as women's. I take them back to have them tell me they can only give me store credit, not the cash I would have taken with me yesterday had they had those shoes in the men's section as they should have been. This was THEIR mistake. They sold these as women's size 7. Even says on the tag. I didn't and I don't want or need anything else from that store. I need my money back or a woman's size 7 of that shoe. They just looked at me like morons and basically told me EVEN THOUGH WE WERE WRONG, YOU, THE CUSTOMER, IS THE ONE WHO'S SCRWED WITHOUT YOUR CASH BUT HERES THIS WORTHLESS RECEIPT FROM A PLACE YOU'LL NEVER SHOP AGAIN INSTEAD OF YOUR MONEY WE RIGHTFULLY OWE YOU.
By the way, prices are too high and offers way too low. Plato's nearby gives much more and has better items.
