My wife and enjoy sti stopping to eat at New News when we go to that part of town. We love the Jalapeño Chicken, Orange Chicken, String Bean Casserole, Chicken w/Mushrooms, Spring Rolls, Egg Drop Soup and a couple of other items on the buffet. Unfortunately, some of the time the kitchen does not produce the same product to put on the buffet. The Jalapeño Chicken often has no juice. The juice really improves the overall flavor of the dish because much of the time the actual Jalapeños are minimal or have been picked out so the juice serves as your source of that spicy flavor and it helps to flavor the other items on your plate adding to their zing. Sometimes the String Beans are overcooked and loose that fresh crunchy texture that's so refreshing. A lot of the time the Bourbon Chicken has been overcooked and I can't eat it because the Chicken is so tuff it's no longer enjoyable and last but certainly not least! One of my most favorite is the Egg Drop Soup but sometimes the flavoring is very weak as it doesn't have enough broth or egg. You can tell right off by the look of the soup because it is a light Yellow rather than the that deep rich looking Yellow it gets when it's not "watered down" so to speak. Oh, I also wish they actually had pepper shakers at the table. It's very inconvenient to have to open several little condiment packages to get some pepper on your food. Plus, it's cheap and low-class. Fortunately, with all the choices on the buffet usually only one or two of these lesser enjoyable conditions exist at any one time so it's still worth stopping in for a good meal, but it would be so much better if all the food choices were served in their full glory all the time.

We also patronize the Mei Mei's that's off I75 and Meadow in Dallas, and we actually like that one better because the dishes are more consistently the same well served in their proper glory which makes the experience oh so so much better! I mean Mei Mei's isn't perfect but its food choices on the buffet are much more consistently served at that higher level of goodness that makes them so easy to really enjoy. Plus, recently they upgraded their facility as well and things like the bathroom and such are more enjoyable to patronize.

New New's just needs to kick it up a couple of notches. I know that they are making good money as l witness their formidable customer base all of the time!

I would say that in spite of what I have said to criticize New New's it is still well enjoyable enough to get my repeat business and I would say yours as well, so I still definitely recommend it, unless you already have another Chinese Buffet restaurant that you know of that you really enjoy! For my wife and I when it comes to a good Chinese Buffet Mei's and New New's is our goto restaurant. We have patronized a few other Chinese Buffet restaurants around the metroplex but we suspect that they tend to use more MSG products in their food because my wife is sensitive to MSG and when we ate at these other places she would start to have symptoms. But, she never seems to have any of these symptoms from eating at Mei Mei's or New New's and we are familiar with the ownership and we have been told that they do not use MSG products in the preparation of their food.

Try it for yourself I am sure you will enjoy it. My wife and I are particular so you might not have the same opinion about New New's sometimesing some of their...

After reading the mixed reviews, I was torn on if I wanted to try this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Since I was in the area and was hungry for a good salad and some Asian food, I figured this place could potentially satisfy both and hold me over until dinner. I walked in and decided to look over the buffet, which wasnt impressive to me, so I decided I’d head for the door without eating. When I got to the door, I noticed a storm had quickly entered the area with people running inside and waiting to leave... so, I had to stay! The salad bar, or lack thereof, lacked items like tomatoes and cucumbers, so I had a salad with lettuce, cheese, croutons and salad dressing (lacking labels so Im glad I picked the right one)! I reluctantly filled my plate with a few other items from the buffet and took my seat. Besides my salad, I didnt finish anything else on my plate. It just wasnt that good! I saw a lot of empty plates and smiling faces, so I can see how people are satisfied, so to be nice, Ill say that we all like what we like. I decided to offer 2 stars for the convenient location, decently friendly staff, plenty of seating, and overall cleanliness. I’ll reserve the other 3 stars for food variety and taste. For $14.55 (because I didnt know it cost $3.30 for hot tea), I shouldve just went to a nice sit-down restaurant in the area vs. having to pay the bill here AND still go to another...

How do I start this is probably one of the worst buffets that I've ever been to in the DFW area not only have I been to this Buffet three times to test it before I wrote a review about it but the last time I was there I watched multiple times health code violations where they put new food on top of the old food instead of putting the new food tray in first and then putting the old food on top so they can be rotated properly also when talking to the manager / owner we told her about how some how keeping raw fish oyster and shrimp next to fresh fruit and vegetables is also against food code and Dallas and she laughed and said I don't care so then we devised her about how some of the food using a temperature gauge which which is not at the proper temperature so she perceives them to take a spoon out of the soup makes me grab it and hold it in my hand which I was very hesitant to do so and quite disgusted and then she wiped it off with a rag and stuck it back in the soup plus a lot of the food that they have there is not even of quality yet they charge so much it's this Buffet is more expensive than any other buffet in the area at $15 for lunch the egg drop soup contains corn which is an extreme cheapening method and it disgusting beyond all reasons I don't think you could pay me...

For me, the mark of a good Asian restaurant is the hot and sour soup. When we are at Lin's tonight, that is the first thing we got and it was delicious. The meal just kept improving. I had the soup, an egg roll, orange chicken, black pepper need and fried rice. I loved it all though when I go back, I will stick to chicken choices instead of beef. My husband had several different chicken and shrimp entrees and said they were all good. There was also sushi, but since I don't eat that, I cannot vouch for its taste. However, based on what we did eat, I would assume the sushi to be good as well. The price was very reasonable for a buffet: $8.99 for lunch and $11.99 for dinner. Seniors get a 10% discount which makes the meal super reasonable. We will definitely be returning to Lin's.

Everything was fine until we found a bug on a piece of chicken. We attempted to tell a waitress but she immediately walked away without any type of apology/response after looking at the bug on the napkin. A hostess then came over and said she would bring the manager over (she did apologize). The manager took the napkin and started picking the bug apart almost like he didn’t believe us. He apologized and agreed to comp one of our plates. So we still had to pay almost $19 to eat bug infested food. I was also off put because when we went up to pay, the manager was telling the hostesses to only charge us for 1 and the hostesses were laughing about it! The more I think about it the more disgusted I get and we have both been nauseous since leaving!!

A hidden gem. I've been going here long enough for it to change names a few times. The selection is well varied, and all good. Fried rice & lo mein noodles are always on point, and the staple dishes are solid (orange chicken, butter (battered) shrimp, dumplings, etc). The beef may be a bit hard to find in the beef broccoli (it was ~a 1:10 ratio today!), but that's par for the course with Chinese buffet offerings managing ingredients costs. Standout dishes include the terriyaki chicken skewers, lemon chicken, and sushi rolls. The dessert & cold fruit selection is also better than most; try the macaroons.
