Hawaiian Bros Island Grill — Restaurant in Addison

Came back for a second time. It was that yummy. Now I have an account here so I can easily order ahead too. So, it's pretty simple, 2 sides (rice & macaroni salad, though there is some veg you can substitute but I haven't tried it yet) & a protein (pork or chicken). Simple yes but oh so good. I don't actually enjoy macaroni salad, it's something I always try but only very little because well, it tastes gross to me. These guys however have some how made one I actually enjoy. It's pretty simple but I think that may just be why I like it. Regardless, you owe it to yourself to at least try it. You may be converted like I have been. The rice is absolutely excellent, I know it's rice but good rice is something to truly marvel at. Finally the chicken, I haven't tried the pork yet but that is next. This isn't some all white meat that is bland & dry. No this is tender, juicy, & delicious. Finally the service is crazy fast! I was in & out in literally less than 10 minutes. And yes, I actually mean literally not figuratively. I do wish the spam musubi was a little better marinaded & charred just a bit more but I think it's just me, thats my preference. This store is run by a racist, angry, miserable General Manager named Blanca. Have never experienced such unprofessional and rude behavior from a manager. This manager would not let my brother pick up the order I placed for us, taking one look at the young black man and refusing to give him the order because apparently people have been stealing pick up orders. She could cite no policy or reason for denying the food other than her personal concerns. She refused to give him our food even after I sent him a screenshot of the order info and gave her a call. She yelled in response to any questions, talked down to him, ignored him and said to take it up with Hawaiian Bros when I called about it (she only yelled when she spoke throughout the entire ordeal). She said her reaction was all due to being busy and stressed, but the restaurant had a total of 4-5 customers who mostly already had food. (She had multiple other employees to help).

This Blanca had no excuse or apology for her disgusting and vile behavior, and I genuinely hope Hawaiian Bros take disciplinary action before she gets them caught in a lawsuit. I feel bad for her young employees who have to be around her constant yelling all day. What a nightmare...

We tried Hawaiian Bros Island Grill for the first time today. When we arrived, I didn't know what to expect. I was a little unsure of the ordering process. The cashier greeted us and told us about the options. We ordered and took our seats. My wife got a really fun view, and I had a view that was a lot more sterile--white walls and turquoise window trim that kind of reminds me of a Mid Century Modern look. It was really clean inside. As a bit of a germaphobe... I love that the forks were wrapped in a sanitary way. We had ordered vegetables and the cashier informed us that they would be freshly cooked and there'd be a bit of a delay. I guess we waited around 10 minutes for our food. They brought it to us. It was in to-go containers, but since I didn't know what this restaurant was like, I didn't know what to expect. I guess all orders are like this. The food... was absolutely delicious. The fresh pineapple was fresh and ripe. The pork was tender and delectable. The rice was perfectly cooked. The vegetables were salty and tasty. And everything (except for the pineapple, of course) was hot. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm sure we'll be back and I plan on mentioning this place to a few...
