I have been coming to this restaurant for years. I've only ever had one issue when the rice was very overcooked and they were not helpful, but they did take it off the check. I have recommended this establishment countless times and introduced multiple people to this restaurant. Tonight ended any business relationship I've had with this restaurant.
I ordered tantanmen the way I always do, no onion or bean sprouts. When the tantanmen arrived, I collected a spoon full of broth and oil and grabbed some noodles with pork. As soon as the food hit my tongue I could tell something was wrong. Not only did it not taste as it normally does, it tasted like something may be bad. I stopped and looked quizzically at my spoon but thought I might be misjudging it. I ate another spoon full and determined that it was far too gross to eat. I asked the waitress to send it back, as it was not good.
She came back a few minutes later (without my food) to explain that they changed the recipe to make it more authentic and she could not replace it. I thought it odd that she assumed I wanted them to remake it the old way versus just sending it back.
They came back to ask about the bill (we were a party of four) so we explained that each couple would go on the same check. When the bills came, they were wrong as they had combined the wrong meals. My tantanmen was on the bill as well, so I took the checks up to the counter to have them fixed.
I explained that the checks were divided incorrectly and that we had been charged for food we sent back. The gentleman at the register went to get a manager to speak with me about the matter for some reason. The "manager" said he would not be taking the tantanmen off the check because he made it correctly. I explained that it did not taste good which was why it was returned. He replied that I had eaten some of it so he was not refunding it and reiterated that there was nothing wrong with it. I reminded him that he had the food and he pointed to the counter and said it was right there.
I cannot, in good conscience, recommend anyone visit this establishment. It is a shame that they do not value...
Read moreAs much as I'd love to give more than 2 stars, I just can't because of the service and the service alone. I came here to eat with my son quickly as we both love ramen. The first thing that upset me was the fact that we were seated in a small corner table that was wobbling, and very obviously wobbling too. I was trying to get in and out quickly, so I tried to order our appetizer and entree all together to which I was told I had to order only my appetizer and she would come back to get our entree. That obviously set the tone for how things would be. We were able to order our ramen when she came back, but not before she tried to get me to order something else. I knew exactly what I wanted, and I also knew exactly what my son wanted. Our appetizer was brought out soon followed by our ramen, which made me question why the waitress made me even wait in the first place to order separately. I wasn't able to sit for long before my son began to get fussy and wouldn't eat anymore. I asked for a to-go container for both our appetizer and our ramen and the waitress had the audacity to look at me, point at me and tell me, "maybe eat a few more noodles," which is wildly inappropriate to me. I'm a smaller woman, and not very tall and have struggled my entire life to keep a good and healthy weight on me. This is what upset me the most. I absolutely will not ever come back to this establishment for this comment alone, and I cannot believe a person who makes comments like this is allowed to work here or around people for that matter. I cannot imagine what she would say to other people about their bodies or insinuate they need to eat more or...
Read moreThis place was my favorite ramen restaurant I love, to be honest, it is my best place of ramen in Dallas. I did miss so many time because I come too early than the opening time of restaurant so I could understand.
Today I decide to stop by getting my favorite bowl of ramen as usual, and I am the first customer come in this morning, and I feel exciting for it. But....
But it turns out extremely terrible.
First scoop of ramen broth, I feel something not usual, because their broth usually gets thicker and really more yellowish color. Today is not. Broth is extremely terrible, too watery and nothing taste well as usual. I feel the broth at very beginning of first scoop.
TOO WHITE, TOO FLAT AND NO TASTE OR ANY FLAVOR OF SOYBEAN INSIDE THE BROTH.
If I was someone else not come here often I bet they will complain and return meal, but I am not. It is not big deal for me much, but it still so annoying. Finish all meats and extra egg I ordered, still too much watery broth inside, what if I drink the broth I feel terribly I surely don't want eat anymore after that.
I comes all the way from home to here just for my breakfast or lunch cause they open too late. I did miss last time, this time I make up, but looks like my make up today is not what I expected....
I don't know I should stick this restaurant or not, I told one of server but they react like I lied them. I did order same thing every single time I come here, image of receipt sticks bottom, and I bet most of their server knows me...
