Hardesty Park — Attraction in Akron

First time visiting this park since Ive moved here. Was doing laundry at the laundromat and decided to wait it out at the park. Very nice park with a nice playground and lots of green space to run and play football, etc...... today was a Saturday and the bathrooms were locked and the port a potty was disgusting with a urine soaked floor, trash and beer cans thrown inside. There was a lot of children and families here today and I don't know what they are going to do if a child needs to use the restroom. Shame on Akron if this is your norm...

We went to Taste of Akron, even though a huge storm was forecast. I saw improvements from a few years ago. They had parking in the back section of the park now. You didn't have to buy tickets first before buying food or beverages. Cash or card was accepted! We ate at the City Diner truck. Both steak and chicken cheese-steaks were very good. Fries were hot but way too greasy in clumps! Bought cookies at "Fat- something or other". Both were very good. There was a well-seen police presence too. Nice event! I hope they continue to hold...

The park is maintained much better than when we initially started coming. We've been to several events at Hardesty, include the Black Arts Festival & the Akron Food Truck Festival this summer.

Nice park, but it was littered with trash and cigar packages. Next time we go I'll bring gloves and a bag to clean with my kids...
