Discount City — Local services in Alameda

I would give this 0 stars if I could! This is the worst discount city ever! They may have items but most of them are expired! Like the drinks, food, veggies and fruits! Whats is really annoying is the cashier! Some of the cashiers are nice but some are really rude! This one guy tries to make jokes about customers that are really annoying and rude AND THEN saids "Just Kidding" If you want your store to have more customers than be nicer to them and don't lie! Don't even joke around with them! Im never ever coming back to this store ever! Its not just one time I go to this store and the cashiers are rude and joking around! They always do this when me or a friend or relative is there! Very disappointed and unsatisfied with this store! Plus they don't even sell 99 cents items ! Was suggested Discount City while looking for balloons to give to my eight-year-old on his birthday. I was surprised to walk into discount city and see such a big store filled with plenty of options! I came in for balloons and couldn’t help but to wander around a bit. I didn’t get to far before I realized I had to remain focused. So back to the balloons, the amount of options was AMAZING!!! No other stores I’ve been to for balloons had so many different characters, prints of balloon options, and different printed latex balloons like Discount City. I’m very used to having a limited selection, even Party City didn’t have quite the variety. I chose his balloons and when it was time to pay, of course the fact that it wasn’t overly priced was a huge, huge relief. I happily called my sisters and told them about this place for future reference. I plan on visiting again real soon when I have time to go through each aisle to see...

They sell alot of dollar store items but their prices are expensiver for the exact same thing, like the napkins, tablecloths, streamers, etc. They are selling them for 1.99 or more. It has a large variety of items, from food and drinks to decorations, to house decor and cooking utensils/pots/pans/serving plates and everything in between. If you're purchasing anything requiring batteries, be very aware as they will only work for about a month or less and stop working. Purchases a clock from their that worked for about 2 weeks and when I went to tell them they said they didn't care it's not their problem.
