A charming and well maintained little museum featuring exhibits on the history, the art, and the collections of the people from the San Luis valley. One beautiful carved Jade collection was particularly stunning (not pictured). There's information on the history of Zebulon Pike. The museum is a 1-2 hour self-guided tour, however we arrived on a weekday and were fortunate enough to get a guided tour from the curator himself. Veterans and Military Free admission.

This is an Alimosa must see. The staff volunteers are sweet ladies with a trove of local knowledge about early settler pioneers, Native Americans, local history and amazing artist

One of the coolest museums I’ve been to, the owner is so knowledgeable and it was such a fascinating visit. Definite hidden gem- you have to stop by!

Was looking for things to do to kill some time before visiting the Dunes, and found this museum. My boyfriend and I didn’t know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised! We were a little unsure about a personal museum tour but we’re so glad they do this! Our tour guide explained everything in depth and in a way that better helped us retain the information. We knew little about the area and we left with interesting facts and pieces of history we didn’t know before. The murals on the outside is beautiful too! If you find yourself here, check it out! You won’t be...

I had previously tried to come on a day they were closed and had no idea what I was missing. Inside you def find many cool exhibits and you can learn a lot about Alamosa and the San Luis Valley. I was mostly coming to see Pikes Journal as they have the only original copy. Wow! The wagon was cool too as I hiked the trail over Mosca Pass Sunday, couldn't imagine it going over that rugged trail. Amazing!...
