We had the absolute BEST dinner of our stay in Alamosa tonight for our last night (save the best for last really played out here!) The waitress was very friendly and reccomend quite a few things. I ordered a rib eye steak with grilled shrimp, mashed potatoes and gravy with green beans there was a slight upcharge for those sides vs fries, but I had enough fries over the weekend so it was well worth it. My husband ordered the reccomend chicken fried steak and my son ordered the small kids burger (surprise for him since he's a big burger guy, but was wiped from the sand dunes and the waitress knew that's where we were earlier immediately lol) my husband and I also shared a flight of beers which we had our waitress pick for us. It was amazing. All of it. It was awesome hearing the head chef calling out orders and wiping plates before they went out, you could tell this place CARES! We recieved our food all of which was perfection. It was the best dinner/ meal we had in Alamosa and we all wished we tried it sooner. We know where we will eat next time we visit as the waitress joked when we gave her the tip. Don't pay attention to any negative reviews, this place is fantastic!! We even decided to take some cheesecake to go since almost all of the reviews I read say how amazing their cheesecake is. I'm currently too full to try it yet, but...
Read moreWe were headed home after a week of incredible cabin camping in the Rio Grande National Forest and were starving for a good hamburger and fries. We plugged In hamburger and fries into Google search close to us and the first thing on the list was "The Rubi Slipper" and it was around the corner from where we were. When we walked in the place was already hopping and the hostess was very friendly seating us at a 2-top. The waitress came up within a 60sec and took our drink order. She suggested we look over the menu and would answer any questions when she brought our drinks. There must be 30 different types of burgers on the menu and if only I had five stomachs. I went with the Cardiac Burger (ham, egg, blah blah blah oh yeah and lots of love). All I can say is WOW that was a fantastic hamburger. I rate a lot of hamburger joints and only post the good ones with The Rubi Slipper being close to the top of my list. Next year, I am trying the recommendation of the cook because what ever they make if it is half as good as what I had it is going to be incredible. The manager came up and asked what we thought about the food and the only thing I could say is the the whole team cooking that day deserves a...
Read moreOur road-trip stop at The Rubi Slipper was Amazing to say the least. I ordered the Extreme Dip and onion rings and on a scale of 1-10 it’s definitely a 10++++++ My husband loved his burrito very much, eating the whole thing and it was huge ! He also had some of the queso from my dip and agreed with me that it was the Best we’ve ever eaten. NOW…If this unbelievable food we had just eaten wasn’t enough we decided to try one of the cheesecakes of the day made by the owner herself. It was Strawberry Peach and as of today the 100% Best Cheesecake I have ever had. From the moment we were greeted and seated by their lovely hostess, served by an amazing young man with the best smile and personality, greeted by several other employees at our table asking if there was anything we needed we were made to feel like we were their only concern. It was very busy but everything was going smoothly and promptly. The prices are very reasonable. We will return even if it means a detour of our route to enjoy it again....
