This is a great park for kids in old town Alexandria.
There's a playground for younger kids and one for slightly older kids as well. They're even slightly separated from each other to ensure safety, which is nice.
The whole park is fenced in, with plenty of entrances and exits, to make it easy to both get in and out.
The location is wonderful and has a great view for whichever parents or guardians are there with the children.
There's plenty of bench seating as well for the adults.
The only real downside is the lack of parking, but honestly, if you drive around a while, you likely won't have to walk far from wherever you end up finding...

Fantastic dog owners live in the area and you're likely to encounter some of the most lovely people who live in Old Town. I go 2 sometimes 3 times a day for work (I'm a dog walker) and I've only ever met one nasty person.
You will however find the stray tourists who decide to have a picknick right in the middle of the park cause the shade.. sorry folks but if you picknick here, I'm going to make my dog play fetch near you. Other parks are...
