Made an reservation for this restaurant a week ago for my birthday brunch. I was so excited to come here. Let's first saaaaay that parking is available. However, it is cash only. $7. If you're like me, and didn't have cash. . Chadwicks has an ATM. There was is a $3.25 charge though :)))) Anyway, when we got there, my party was seated in less than 2 minutes. I love when restaurants are prepared for the parties that reserve ahead. Our waiter Nate, was the only waiter upstairs and I didn't know until the end. However, with what he had to juggle, I'm giving him five stars. We had a table of 7 people, plus the rest of the floor. I was kinda annoyed at first that I could find him, however I then realized, it was just him. So I let it go. He still made sure that our cups were filled and that we were satisfied with our food. He had very little convo, but he was busy! First, I ordered the chicken egg rolls. They were really good. The outside was fried perfectly. Then Nate brought the table muffins. They were fresh out the oven because they were nice and warm. ALSO, THEY TASTED LIKE CAKE. So sweet and good. I ordered the huevos racheros. It was really food! I didn't expect it to be thaaaat good. Also, I added a side of sausage. Three links came out and they were pretty big! Overall experience was good. OH YEAH, Mimosas at brunch are $4. That's a great price. I know I will be coming back if in the area.

TL;DR: this is a good restaurant that has the potential to be a great restaurant with a couple small changes. Location: 5/5 It is right off of Union Street in the heart of Old Town overlooking the Potomac. Surrounding area is wonderful. Parking is a little dicey. We walked from where we were staying. Ambiance: 5/5 It is in a historic building with a lot of rustic charm. Tasteful decorations. The seats were a little uncomfortable, but not too bad. Service: 5/5 The wait staff was efficient, checked on us frequently, and were friendly and engaging. Drinks 2/5: I ordered the margarita that they have listed on their cocktail menu. It isn’t hard to make a decent margarita, and this one could barely be described as decent. Flavor was off, and there was no salt rim. Appetizer: 4/5 I ordered the shrimp and avocado ceviche, which was quite good. It was served with some basic tortilla chips out of a bag, which was a bit disappointing. Would have been better if the chips were made in house. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Greek Salad with Salmon, which was also pretty good. Salmon was a standard strip of salmon, nothing to write home about. The salad dressing was good. Not great, but not bad either. Overall, we didn’t regret our choice to have dinner here, but if we returned to Old Town we might explore other options given the plethora of restaurants in the area.

It's time to grab lunch. I scoped out a few places but I noticed this place has fried green tomatoes on the menu. My tastebuds were tempted so I popped in. I sat at the bar and the vibe was comfy, relaxed with sports on all of the televisions -- a good thing! I needed a jump start so I had a Red Bull. Then I ordered fried green tomatoes to start. I like that they cut them in manageable slices sitting on top of bacon jam topped with a mild jalapeño foam. Yum, tasty! I was given hot sauce to try on the tomatoes and, yep, it is really is Damn Good Sauce -- fo' sho!! The sauce added a slight heat and was a good compliment to the tomatoes. So I was torn between shrimp and grits or French toast. I had both of them by asking for a side order of French Toast. Okay, I know the French Toast came with syrup but the whipped butter had a sweet, cinnamon taste that I did not use the syrup. As for the shrimp and grits it was a good portion. It had bacon and caper sprinkled in that those flavors elevated the dish. To top it off I splashed some Damn Good Sauce on it. By now I was getting full at this point so I made sure to eat all of the shrimps. I enjoyed the presentation and textures of each delish dish. I was told the Damn Good Sauce is made locally so I will buy some soon, yum! Overall it was good food and friendly service.

This place has the absolute worse customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Bear with me as I explain managements inability to accept accountability for a mistake made on their end and the lack of professionalism displayed by their manager Shawn. Shawn is incapable of effectively communicating and should not be in management. I hate to think how he treats people that report to him. He is condescending, aggressive and childish. I cannot imagine this is the first instance in which he's behaved in this manner and it is unacceptable.

At any rate, what brought all of this on was a large party reservation that I made for 50 guests, 5 weeks prior to the event. I was informed by the owner Trey less than 2 weeks prior to the event that they do not take large party reservations of this size and the person who made the reservation was inexperienced and should not have accepted the reservation. My response was though I understand they don't normally take reservations of this size, it places me in a very difficult position considering I have less than 2 weeks to try to find a new location. At first, I was offered an apology only. I again expressed that something more should be offered especially considering I am only in this position as the result of an error made by an employee NOT me. Trey then offered to try and find another restaurant that could accommodate my party size. I received a call this morning from Shawn that Trey reached out to a few restaurants and one in particular may be able to accommodate the reservation provided we agreed to a buffet style brunch to which I said what fee would be charged for the buffet as of course I am concerned with the cost considering my original reservation with Chadwick's allowed for us to order from the menu. Shawn's response was that was never going to happen. My reply was, what do you mean by that as that is what was offered when I made the reservation. He then says, yes, by an 18 year old. I'm confused because this 18 year old worked at your establishment. This 18 year old set up a reservation and this 18 year old was allowed to answer the phone at your establishment and make a large party reservation. And for some reason this is somehow my fault. I expressed that the lack of accountability is quite disturbing. At this point, Shawn begins to raise his voice, speak to me aggresively and very condescending. At that point, I told him I will no longer communicate with him and to please have Trey call me to discuss further. I am completely appalled by Shawn's behavior and will never visit this...

i heard many people vouge for nick so i think one time i overheard he was giving up his tips until a noble goal i didn't hear all of was achieved so when i was fresh out of the army my dad said maybe i'd like going to the bars at first i didn't know what i was talking about or how the norms were (first thinking i couldn't afford it or other issues) so i tried it out um basically this place immediately helped me so some of that was later i learned people can end up going to 'specific' bars some of that being me with the music stuff (birchmere black cat 930 lincoln capital one arena rock and roll hotel before they closed o'shaughnessy's to name some fillmore silverspring) so what was really impressive was on one of my first visits here i run into rory sheridan who was starting off his dc music campaign back then he was in loud boyz and i got to chat with him a few other times i saw old classmates and another big one was when i heard there was 'reunion' night before thanksgiving that i self invited myself to um yeah there were times too where people could be mean or i didn't fit in (but got directions to where i may be a better fit with less issues and drama) um so it's old town some of that being the nearby feeder schools for that west potomac mount vernon bishop ireton being the ones i was familiar with um oh when i was coming here it was a pretty good time that was when i'd sometimes take alexandria yellow cab (or metro access for a while and get dropped of discretely further because i was embarrassed for disability) um the whole tourist stuff over here and being too familiar as a regular and people being territorial who knew i'd sell my house but i think i actually did very well on that deal um so the party kept going for a little while remembering times during that like the rg3 redskins or even jt's meetup group some stuff like new years or just regular weekends later on i got on more with other places flying fish before they closed or o'shaughnessy's before i quit drinking so yeah this is a sports bar i think it's next to a bicycle shop off the street where the ben and jerry's i used to work at is and many other walkable bars for bar crawling union street pub fish market it can be a real good time where too the good sides can be downsides also i definetely was hosted well treated with respect and firmness too always some thing i didn't know or want to...

Truthfully one of the worst dining experiences i’ve ever has. I came here after deciding between a few different restaurants in the area and this was the only one without a wait; a red flag I should’ve noticed. The hosts were all sitting and chatting when we arrived but sat us promptly. The server dropped off waters and didn’t say hello or have any actual introductory conversation. When I asked him what was in the “Blue Crab Dip” besides Blue Crab he said, “i think bleu cheese, that’s why it says blue.” It was obvious the crab dip wasn’t going to contain crab and bleu cheese but I didn’t question further because it was obvious he didn’t know. Servers should know their product and be able to know what’s on their limited menu. We order 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. My partner asked for an extra patty and we were told that they don’t have an option in the system for an extra patty so he was going to put it under a different item for an extra $7-9. Weird but okay. The first items that come out are the entrees, minus the extra patty; which we are told we would have to wait for. I had the jambalaya and it was terrible. The chicken - every single piece - was rubbery and disgusting , as if it was a week past the best buy date and/or was previously frozen. The rice felt dry and the number of huge onion slices was appalling. My partner had nothing good to say about his food: the burger, mac and cheese, fries, and wings. His only comments were that they tasted like bland basic versions of the food. After he was 2/3 done with his burger, the second patty came out and he politely declined. The appetizers come ~5mins after the entrees were dropped and we are told it’s because my partner wanted the wings crispy… yeah okay. The Blue Crab Dip had absolutely no bleu cheese to no surprise but didn’t tasted good and was rather questionable. I sent it back and got the fried green tomatoes, which are also a dish you should go without. Do not come here unless you want your appetizers after your entrees, flavorless old food, and poor service. It doesn’t matter how nice a server is, they should know what’s in the dishes on the menu and how to course...
