Algood Park is nice with large grassy areas, paved walking trails, a fenced in dog area, and restrooms. However, it seems like perhaps the City of Algood is waiting on more funding to add more features.
I am sorry to gripe, but I want to share that there is a lady with a house that fronts Main St and her back yard opens to the park. She treats the park like an extension of her back yard. She lets her two large dogs roam freely, off-leash, throughout the park. I tried to get my small dog to the fenced area, using a leash and the walkways, meanwhile her dogs were running roughshod all over the park and relieving themselves (#2) in the back yards of the other homes that adjoin the park. To be clear, she was outside in the park with the dogs. She was watching them run all over the park and poo in people's yards. She saw that I had issues with her dogs. She literally just does not care. She is the "rotten apple that spoils the bunch" as it may be. I left the park before I got anywhere near the fenced dog area and have not been back. There is no such thing as "park police." People are simply expected to understand that shared resources require a more restrained approach.
