The food was not terrible. Decent flavor, but arrived a little slower than most Mexican restaurants in Cookeville. But, could of been because the waiter (Hispanic male, maybe mid to late 30âs, little heavier in the stomach) was busy being over the top flirtatious and very rude and disrespectful with his disrespecting comments towards my girlfriend on, âhow pretty she isâ and âhow he thinks sheâs hotâ and telling her âhow he will be thinking about herâ!đĄ I love having a beautiful girlfriend and expect her to turn heads. And for her to receive compliments! Sheâs beautiful inside and out! Thatâs why sheâs mine! But, I do not accept being disrespected! It made my girlfriend feel very uncomfortable. My girlfriend even tried to thank him for his compliments and also letting him know that what he was saying was completely inappropriate and that she wasnât interested, clearly! Even after I said, ok thanks but that enough and over the top! He still interrupted our conversations a few times to try to get my girlfriendâs attention and then basically yelled out across the restaurant the words âBYE and HOPEFULLY SEE YOU AGAIN SOONâ! As we were walking out the door as quickly as possible and trying without another encounter...
Read moreThe food is quite good, but I can't figure out their pricing scale and I'm pretty confused and upset at the moment. We like to sit at the bar at Mexican restaurants, have a drink or two and order food to go. I guess there's no bar space here so we took a table because it wasn't busy. Somehow two taco meals ($15 each), a small house margarita, a large draft beer, and a large salsa was $61. In prior experience house margs are 5-7, and most draft beer is 3-7, and large salsa is 6 max. That should sensibly be closer to the $40/45 range depending on the actual cost of the drinks. If we rack up over $60 at a Mexican place it usually had included some tequila shots and more than one round of drinks. The receipts are small and non descriptive so we paid and left but shoot, after 20% tip... When we got home there were extra chips in there, which we didn't order, and I have no idea if we were charged for them or not. If we were charged then that's frustrating because we didn't ask for any chips. But this all has me feeling fussy because what is normally a fairly cheap fun meal ended up costing more than a splurge meal and I'm not sure if I want to return...
Read moreBeware! This restaurant engages in bait-and-switch tactics and double pricing. All menu prices are overcharged at checkout. Identical items appear in different sections of the menu at different prices, and the higher price is always charged. For example, Cheese Dip is listed under "Appetizers" for $5.99 (small size) and under "Sides" for $2.99 (no size indicated). The same applies to Guacamole. At checkout, prices are increased even further. I was charged $6.20 for the $2.99 item. When I inquired, I was told the $2.99 item actually costs $5.99, and the price was subject to a surcharge because I paid with a credit card. Similar surcharges were applied to other menu items. To justify the price gouging, I was shown a small, address-sized sticker on the menu that vaguely stated cash prices are discountedâbut it provided no details on the amount of the discount or whether the listed menu prices applied to cash or card payments. One note on the check mentions that cash payments receive a 3.5% discount. It feels like a carefully orchestrated shell game with pricing. One star for dishonest business practices. Food:...
