Ace Hardware continues to stand out for one main reason: outstanding customer service. Every time I visit, I’m greeted quickly and helped by someone who genuinely knows their stuff. Whether it’s finding a specialty tool, hardware part, or advice on a DIY project, the staff always go above and beyond.

Another strength of Ace is their selection of niche or specialty items—things you often will not find at the bigger box stores. It feels more curated, which can be a real plus when you need something specific or higher quality.

called the store right at opening and asked if they had a particular item. They told me they did and I asked, would they hold some for me and that I would be there before lunch to pick up. The guy on the phone told me yes he would hold them. I go to pick them up before lunch and they had already sold three of my five online and was going to sell another one to a customer in the checkout. The guy stated that I had not showed up to pick them up even though I was two hours earlier than what I said I would be. The guy tells me I should have paid for them when I asked them to hold them. No one told me to pay for them. I would have been happy to pay for them. in the end, they would only sell me 2 and they walked away with 3 to the back. I am accustomed to a high standard of service where ACE is concerned. Sadly my expectations were not met. I don't want to drive to ACE in New Tampa every week for hardware.
