Just moved to town and was told about this place. Went in at 10:20 am on a Saturday morning. No one greeted me, I had to ask if I need to wait to be seated, was told to sit where I wanted. I sat for 10 mins, was never acknowledged. A family came in a few mins after me, was greeted and served drinks, I’m still waiting for a hello. A man came in 5 mins after me, sat at a dirty table, after playing with a child sitting at the counter, a waitress not only went and cleaned off the table but took his drink order, while I sat and still not one person came over to my table to even say hi. A young woman sitting at the table facing mine laughed and said, “guess they don’t want to wait on you.” To which I agreed and said, “yep, I’m done.” As I said this and was walking out. This is a busy hidden gem. The place was packed upon our arrival with guests eating up a storm. The decor is a mixture of sports, ole school plaques, racing, cars and it is very interesting to explore. We grabbed a table and were greeted immediately. The service was pleasant and precise. We had the best waitress ever to bring our drinks out; her name is Avery. She did a spectacular job! Avery was very attentive and adorable. We were offered great menu choices or the hot bar_ we opted for the hot bar. The fried chicken, green beans, mac & cheese, mp & gravy were warm and very delicious. My husband chose a piece of lemon meringue pie to take home. This unexpected dining experience has added a new diner to our list of 'go tos' for us. Algood Diner is highly recommended. This was my first time at Algood Diner, and I can already say it won’t be my last! I live over three hours away, but stopping here was so worth it. From the moment I walked through the door, the atmosphere was incredible—it’s a whole vibe.

The staff was beyond welcoming. Everyone, from the dishwasher to the owner, had the brightest smiles. The owner took the time to chat with every guest, creating such a friendly and personal experience.

And the food? Absolutely amazing! Every bite was pure perfection. Shoutout to Algood Diner for doing a restaurant the right way and leaving such a great first impression.
