Elite Audio & Service — Attraction in Altoona

I live in Chicago, and after reviewing several options for a high end upgrade for my electric car, a 2023 Kia EV6, Elite Audio came out as the clear choice even though they were 5 hours away from where I live! Chicago, as one would imagine of a huge city, has many many places from which to choose for car audio upgrades. But that’s just it……I didn’t want ‘any’ car audio shop.

Elite Audio stood out after I researched a few important elements of a high end upgrade. There is a lot involved, and I wanted to insure each step taken, were really good ones. It’s more than simply purchasing pricey speakers and installing them. In that case, any audio shop could do that.

The majority of the speakers chosen were the Helix Compose series (Ci7’s), and also the DSP/amp was by Helix. Helix, a German company renowned for their DSPs in the audio world is pretty much the best ones out there. These expensive DSPs require professional tuning, and this special expertise require special training of which Elite Audio was certified!

Only a handful of shops in the Midwest have the certification from Helix. There are tuners out there without the certification. But if I’m going to spend a lot of dollars on an upgraded system, I’d much rather go to a shop that is certified in the skill straight from the source, Helix (Audiotec Fischer). At the time I researched, there were no audio shops in all of Chicagoland that obtained the certification, although many sold Helix products. This made me even more impressed with Elite Audio because they took the time and invested in their expertise when they could have chosen not to like many others.

I drove to Altoona/Eau Claire for the very first time all because of Elite Audio. It was the best decision I could have made. Everyone there is so cool, so very knowledgeable (especially Rob) and professional; and to top it off, they are about as kind as they come.

They were accommodating beyond measure for an out of towner. I won’t name the accommodation because everyone will most likely ask for it hahaha and I don’t wish to put them out there in such a way. Let’s just say, they were fabulous, outstanding in every way. Their prices were fair. In fact, I was surprised everything fell slightly under budget and timing was right on target as Rob said.

I now have a super superb solid system that I am very happy with. That authentic sound hits the gut just the way I want it to, without all the loud noise, and it’s all because of Rob’s precise and very thorough execution. He was motivated, went out his way to do it right from beginning to end and it really paid off!!! I can’t believe how satisfied I am with this sound. So lets start this out by explaining the photo. this is work that elite audio charged me $330 to do. First problem, they wired my amplifier into the stock subwoofer in the very back of my vehicle instead of directly to the head unit, which I assume was done to save themselves time. Although its a functional alternative, when I’m paying upwards of $100 an hour for labor on my vehicles sound system, I would really hope they didnt take shortcuts to get the job done easier at such a premium cost. Even bigger issue with the installation is notice how the wire is literally severed from the connection? This is the first time I’ve ever touched the install and i find a wire that is hanging loose and fully disconnected from the system? I cant even understand how its possible ? i had to take electrical tape off the end to see the open copper, so it leads me to assume they cut the wire and simply taped it back together? No splice, no solder just literal electrical tape holding my audio signal together sandwiched between a stock subwoofer and a aftermarket subwoofer that are both emitting significant vibrations. In what world is that a smart or functional solution from a professional installer? Not to mention that failure point caused the entire system I had them install to fail as well as the stock subwoofer. Incredibly disappointed. I absolutely love elite audioas they are very knowledgeable about the work and services needed in the eau claire area the owner is a very personable person and easy to work with allthough the only reason for the four stars is simply becuse the staff approached me as If i was a theft there for I was very disappointed as I did not get to fully look through the shop as I was looking for a high quality audio box as well as a controller over all this place has never given me a hard time allthouh it definitely made me fell like a thief as soon as I entered the store I would highly recommend a more welcoming entrance for the eau claire area elite audio as over all the service is fantastic and I highly appreciate the recommendations as many of my family members as well as friends use this place for there audio needs allthough this last time I whent into there store me as well as my fiance Imidintly felt like we where thieves and it was my first disappointing experience here over all still a very highly recommend store for you're...
