Wellborne Cinema — Attraction in Alvin

I wish could leave no stars. There is never an actual adult there to handle business. I’ve been there twice in the last six months and the first time I wanted to see Deadpool at 11am and the only employee didn’t even arrive to open the business until 11am with a line of people waiting outside. This time I wanted to see Captain America at 4pm to which there again was only a teenager in the building to handle customers. We bought tickets and popcorn and a drink for $34.10 and sat for the show only to be told by another worker that the other person “wasn’t supposed to sell you those tickets” to us and the other two families there because the theater was broken. I don’t understand why there wasn’t signage for us or the employees to know that. I wanted to get a refunded but they both told us we could only be refunded for the tickets because “we’re not allowed to refund concessions” so I only got refunded $12.99. I still lost over $20 in concessions which is absolutely ridiculous. They need to have a manager on staff with the children they hire because they obviously don’t know what...

I mean......it's in Alvin, therefore, you can't expect to much more than this. It's a $5 movie which you can't find anywhere probably for the past 10 years or more. The employees are decent and they recently partially remodeled the concession stand. I personally think the money would have been better spent on seating and sound (I would have given it 5 stars). They also have a punch card...buy 10 get 1 free. There are only 4 screens and one is very large. You'll spend more on popcorn and drink than the movie, but still priced cheaper than places like AMC and Cinamark. If your watching children's entertainment it will likely be loud due to misbehaving kids, but if it's a kid's movie, what else would you expect? I prefer going here when taking my kids. If two people can go see a movie, each with large drinks and candy and share a large popcorn- for under 25 bucks, well, these two people are going to see a lot more movies!!!! I absolutely love this place. The staff is friendly and helpful and I don't mind the tickets/concessions being the same line because they've been fully staffed every time. It's actually more convenient in my opinion, since we always get concessions- to not have to wait in line twice. The line moves fast. We usually arrive at the theater 10 mins before the movie (usually on a weekend,) and are seated with plenty of time before previews even start. I'm so happy Alvin has a cinema again, and I love the way Wellborne is run! It's a great experience, making date nights a lot...
