C-A-L Ranch Stores — Attraction in American Fork

This is such a sad cal ranch! I just wanted to say the girls that were helping me pick chicken food and stuff for them I really appreciate the both of you! On the other hand the two girls that helped me today including their manager were very inconsiderate and not caring or understanding. My sister and I felt very hurt by how they handled thangs. When we had a horrible week losing most of our flock and after getting this chicken feed. We were forced to give the couple we had left to someone with a big flock. We opened it and couldn’t use it because it seemed it made them almost worse. When we walked into the store it was a different experience from when I went there the couple weeks before. They were not welcoming and had us stand there with our return it was already embarrassing for me to do I never even return anything. The girl in the front that looked like she could care less to help us just looked at us I asked if I can return here. She was like what? I was confused because she was acting like they don’t do that. Then I said I just need to return the bags of feed and some supplements. She looks at it and says to me they are open? I said yes then I tried to explain my week and how the food didn’t help my chickens. The lady a couple weeks before told me I could return half of the bag if I needed to. Then a girl with black hair who was bigger who I thought was the manager was like so just because you’re chickens died you’re trying to return half a bag. I responded oh no I just barely used them they are more then half a bag I just didn’t want to give it to anybody else because my chickens died. Then my sister showed they were way more then a half bag and the girl just goes oh and rolls her eyes. I felt very uncomfortable at this point. I realize that the manager wasn’t even that girl and a different lady comes up who is the actual manager. She takes one look and is like we can’t return them. I understood and asked if I could return the supplements she said yes. Then the blond girl said no we can’t because they look open. I was like the manager said we can then she goes to ask the manager and said no we cannot. Then the girl with black hair was like we only return stuff if it has mold. I was like umm I have barely used my bag I don’t know if it has mold I barely touched it. As I am walking out of the store I am just thinking there food probably made my chickens worse if they are talking about mold. Now I am stuck with food I can’t do anything with and a really bad experience with cal ranch. I will not be going back my animals deserve better than that and if you want your animals to live...

I entered the American fork location on Saturday to see the young man at the register sitting on the counter top not even Acknowledging me. Proceeded to find the item that I would like to purchase at the price listed on the price tag. At the register the young woman proceeds to tell me that the item I would like to purchase is actually $100 more than what is listed on the price tag that I would like to purchase. She proceeds to call the manager to help out with the situation. The manager looks up the item and tells me that it’s $100 more than listed on the price tag of the item I would like to purchase. I asked her why is it not the price listed on the price tag. She tells me “we’re not perfect” and this is the price. I asked her why is that? She then makes me feel stupid for asking such a question! I end up getting frustrated and leaving the location with complete anger with how I was treated from the customer service manager. I will no longer recommend any of my family or friends to shop at Cal Ranch. I will never shop at a Cal Ranch location ever again in my life. So angry and so disappointed in how I was treated for shopping at your store! I gave this location and Cal ranch zero stars for their review. I will gladly take my business to one of your competitors and no matter what the price is I will feel happy with paying any price knowing that my money is not being spent at Cal Ranch. I'm in recovery (like for drugs/alcohol). When I was on drugs I decided I was going to start dressing like a cowboy so I could blend in more with people who weren't partaking in the shenanigans I was involved in. Even under the influence, CAL Ranch in American Fork Utah was obviously the best place to start. I purchased a nice 3X Beaver hat and a few pearl snap dress shirts. Unfortunately, I was arrested the next day. While I was in jail my girlfriends mom saw all these nice clothes in my apartment with the tags still attached so she assumed they were stolen. She's a saint so she brought the clothes back to CAL Ranch. After being released from jail and completing treatment at Ardu Recovery in Provo (best rehab in Utah County), I was able to contact CAL Ranch and provide proof of purchase. They gave me my 3X Beaver hat back and a gift card for the value of the shirts. This was even more of a blessing because the original pearl snap shirts would be popping at the seams had I tried to squeeze them over this sober body. I'm so grateful to this store because they still reimbursed me even though, as Jeneka the loss prevention manager said, "It's not our fault that we didn't keep the clothes that your girlfriend's mom said she found in a meth house." It's highly unusual for a business to show this level of compassion. Shout out to Rose the best store manager...
