Anacortes Public Library — Attraction in Anacortes

Fantastic staff and a very cozy atmosphere. I love the modern look and feel of the building. However, the noise level can be a real issue. I come here to study and read,like most people do in a library,but it’s often difficult to focus. On Saturdays, especially, there are lots of kids running around, screaming, and yelling, sometimes right next to you. It is actually quite irritating when you're deep in a study sesh. Additionally, some visitors (not staff) treat the library as a social hangout, walking up to random people who are reading or studying to chat and crack jokes completely unprompted. I try to be polite, but it’s frustrating to be interrupted when I was just minding my own business. Other than the noise level, this library is FANTASTIC. The library staff is friendly and do a lot to make the library an inviting space for all. Housed in a gorgeous light-filled building decorated with original with inviting landscaping and a pleasant atmosphere. It does tend to get rather loud inside and due to the open nature of the building it is hard to read or study especially on Saturdays. They've recently updated the computers, which is helpful. The collection is somewhat limited and several times I've turned books/ etc in and they did not get scanned back in properly so I had to go into the library and find the item on the shelf, but overall a nice...

The building is gorgeous, and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. When I say their selection is wide, I mean W I D E. Need a book or audiobook? Of course they have it they're a library. You can get it digitally or physically. What about music a movie? They have those too, and also videogames!! Need a puzzle or a STEM kit to strengthen young minds? They've got it! Their vast collection and their broad selection of activities and programs make this my favorite place to go in Anacortes. It's beautiful and tranquil, and I always feel my best when...
