This is the worst hospital I've ever been in a side from coastal community in Santa Ana but this hospital is right up there. Please take the time to read my review and see what we went thru being at this hospital before anyone decides to go there. My brother went there not by choice but the ambulance took him there. Please anybody who reads my review don't ever go there. My brother had a broken hip and was there for nearly two weeks ! The nurses were rude and very unprofessional some were very sweet and did a good job but there are so many more that are snotty lazy and rude. Everyone who also had a bad experience at this hospital hit the nail right on the head couldn't agree more about how lowzy this hospital is. The doctors also do everything half ass. I thank God my brother got thru his hip surgery alive. They didn't give him his right medication at first and he has high blood pressure it wasn't until he told them they weren't giving him everything that they corrected it and it took them a few days to do that. They discharged him in so much pain didn't even send him to a rehabilitation center our family had to come to the hospital just to get him out the hospital the right way the nurses didn't give a care all they wanted was to hurry and get him out because he was already discharged the majority of nurses even social workers and case work managers are very rude no compassion no empathy Especially this one nurse that worked on the 2nd floor room 219 named Emily she's Vietnamese or something she had the nerve to argue back with my brother we had to request her to NOT be his nurse anymore the doctors even lied to us saying they talked to my brothers real doctors from st Joseph's when they didn't drs didn't even know what these other drs were doing with my brother then the case worker told my brother to just get over the fact he was getting discharged in pain and she also lied telling him she talked to me about him coming home and NO ONE from that hospital ever called me they told him I said I was ok with him coming home and was ready but I never had a conversation with her how would I be ready for him to come home when he was completely immobile and in so much pain one nurse one day told my brother to be quiet because they moved him the wrong way with a BROKEN HIP and he yelled in pain but yet when family is there the nurses will act like they are nice dont let them fool you they have no heart and yes the ER nurses are lazy first day my brother was there in so much pain it took me a half hour just to turn him on his side alone not once did any of the nurses ask me if I needed help they would just look over at me from time to time watching me struggle to turn him on his side in such pain this is the worst hospital I wouldn't even give this hospital one star my brother and I had ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES THERE! Its a shame to because there are a few good nurses but it over shadows them with all the bad of the hospital I don't recommend anyone going there especially if your going for something serious I pray i will never have to send my brother to go there again I didn't know what to do about the whole thing I was hurt and angry about the care my brother received but if posting our experience can help someone else or even just have someone read this and understand what goes on in this hospital then I made a little difference the staff can't keep conducting the hospital in that way It would be nice to see a change but seriously I feel bad for people that go there thinking there gonna get good care it's not a good hospital...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is by far zero stars, I can write a book on what happened to me at this place in just about 4 hrs. I am normally a healthy person I can count on 1 hand how many times Iāve been to the ER in my life but this is the worse. I went in there after vomiting non stop all day and i was still vomiting at like 11pm and was near there while on the bus so I stopped in, I had MediCal(lowest insurance) but still had insurance. It took them bout 90 mins to get me back into the checking area. They took my blood and had me pee in a container for testing. Normally a blood sample isnāt needed for this case but I did it to find out whatās going on. While I was there a guy came in with FD and heās screaming and flailing all over, kicking and screaming non stop. I thought he was on a bad trip or got crazy on drugs(turned out low blood sugar?!?). He was kicking so much that the curtain separating us was hitting me hard and I had to block him from hitting me. I asked the Dr. politely to be moved and they refused. There was plenty of other places btw. So they finally took me to scan my stomach. Then I was back just in the recovery room waiting after literally over 3. hrs and my phone dead so nothing to do and no answers I went to the nurses station and told them āhey itās 3am believe it or not I have college in the morning and Iām leavingā(what many donāt know is that you can come/go whenever you want). So suddenly they said āok we have your results just wait a bit weāll get them to youā. So 20 mins later they gave me a few pages printed out with all my test results they never explained any of them too me. I then told them Iād like a prescription for 750mg aspirin(anything over 500mg itās needed, plus if they give me a prescription itās free thru my insurance). They refused telling me to just buy aspirin thru the local store and that my aspirin levels were already very high according to my test results. I told them the truth that I had been popping aspirins all day trying to get better and had to take many bc I kept vomiting them up. They obviously were assuming Iām just a junky hard up for some pain killers and was popping aspirin for the high/fun of it. They were very rude and just treated me like scum. I then left without them explaining anything or telling me what to do to get well. I felt fine finally (I think the drip they put me on helped a lot). I later looked up my aspirin level according to the test results and it wasnāt even high by any means of the definition. My guess is bc that hosp was in an area that formerly had a lot of junkies/homeless in that area that they became jaded to anyone that they assumed looked that way. I wasnāt not that and actually a student that to this day has never done any street drugs. Shame on this place for treating me and the other that commented with similar issues this way. This place has a 2 star rating for a reason, avoid it at all costs and go to St. Joseph thatās in the area and much better. Many have told me the only good hosp in all of OC are Hoag, St Jo(part of Hoag) and St Jude(my friends wife did hosp reviews and confirmed this). Shame on this place for treating ppl worse than human!!!! To this day I donāt why I vomited non stop my guess is food poisoning. AVOID...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām giving two stars for the employees who we really liked; (Which is the equivalent for five dollars for them) If I could get zero stars for the facility as a whole, I wouldāve rated it. It would be a good thing to have a rating of this is for the facilities. This is for the employees. The staff that we really loved and I canāt remember everybodyās name was Kim, Naz, There was a really nice girl. I canāt remember her name, but I wrote it on a report, there was a gentleman with a long, gray hair and glasses that was really sweet, and then there was Deveryn I think that was his name.. Heās an African-American gentleman that works on the second floor. The former people mentioned work in ICU. They were the greatest. Nurse Nora on the second floor was a horrible nurse. I watched her try to place my momās breathing tube back in her nose and she could not get it in; my sister had to tell her you donāt have it in her nose. Ohā¦.Watched my mom sitting in a bed that had been deflated and was sunken down. She didnāt know how to fix it. She was a horrible nurse. The nursing staff on the second floor with the exception of one girl and I donāt know her name. She has black hair with a blonde streak. She was for sure the greatest. The doctors overall they were horrible no communication,no talking with the family ( The exception was a Dr. Noble⦠She was fantastic. She communicated to us. I think we spoke with her once or twice. ) as a family, we didnāt really know what was going on because we never talked with a doctor. we get there and find out my momās going to be moved and itās like no one told us ; no communication with the family. I never saw a doctor once the whole time I was there thatās a shame. Whoās running this facility. I guess itās true what they say when you canāt afford the best medical, then you donāt get the best medical you would think that as a hospital as a hole, they would want to give their all and their best to the patients, but they donāt. I observed nurses walking around talking huddled together not doing anything. There were two nurses in ICU both males that were as lazy as can be. I saw one of them tapping on their cell phone when they shouldāve been checking on their patients. it was just a horrible, horrible experience for my mother. I would not suggest this hospital to anybody unless itās absolutely necessary. But for your loved ones if you can avoid this hospital do so. It doesnāt appear that the hospital and most of the staff at least 90% of the staff should really rethink their nursing careers in their careers of being doctors. I think lwhen you go into nursing or you become a doctor or you run a hospital you should be concerned about the welfare and care of the patient; This was something that was unfortunately lacking at...
