The Center of Anna Maria Island — Attraction in Anna Maria island

I have a goal to lose about 30lbs. I made my mind up and went in search of a gym where I would have access to the right equipment BUT most importantly...a team I felt would support me. I went to look at a few other gyms locally and found that Island Fitness met all my criteria...HANDS DOWN! The place is clean, bright, well organized and well equipped. Brenda, the owner, was enthusiastic about my goals and met with me on her watch to go through the equipment as well as line me out with a list of exercises. The staff is friendly and helpful. The classes...yoga, cardio, pilates etc...are enthusiastically taught by knowledgeable, thoughtful, staff. Last but not least....I LOVE the Indoor Cycle classes!!! It is a way to burn between 400 and 700+ calories an hour. Great leg and cardio workout! Instructors, Monica and Debbie ROCK!!!!! I This gym is my new home...

We bought tickets to see Simply Queen.. this past weekend..when I called last week I was told they were sold out.. then Morgan called me back and said 2 tickets came available I thought wow ok I'll take them.. come to find out when we got to the event we were literally sitting in front of the huge speakers.. so I asked other people in the first 2 rows and they said the same thing happened to them.. it was sold out and miraculously seats came available..I complained and they did move my husband and I but we were so crowded it was absurd..there was 2 women sitting next to me they left after the first couple of songs said it was ridiculous I told her what happened to us she said we got robbed.. so we left at intermission as well did a lot of people. I will never...

I love the classes here but… I wish the staff was more trained on what the classes are, what equipment is needed, who is subbing when, and more. I called 2 nights ago to find out who was subbing a class yesterday and the concierge did not know there was a sub even though I knew there was one because all the students mentioned the day before. I called this morning and the concierge did not know anything about the tai chi class today. I didn’t want to haul a Matt and towel on a bike if I didn’t have to.I teach at a large facility where I’m from and this is a simple thing to keep track of. It is also something members are extremely interested in. I hope they can find a system that works for them and the...
