Dips Ice Cream — Restaurant in Anna Maria island

Second year visiting AMI, just had to come back to Dip's after our experience in 2022. Summer of 2023 was completely different. Service and quality are non-existent this summer. When the machines cannot keep up with the amount of orders being taken they continue to serve anyway. Instead of receiving ice cream, you receive a cone upside down in a bowl of milk. Then when you question it or say this is not what you ordered they ask why you have an attitude "bro". Manager/Owner was not too helpful either. He was more concerned about his workers reputation rather than making a spectacle of the situation in front of 50+ waiting customers. He also talked bad about another ice cream business very close to his. Small business owners are supposed to lift each other up and not "dog" each other. He also claims I cursed his worker out, absolutely not true. Luckily for us, he asked us if we wanted our money back and did get it all back to us. 3 of our orders went straight to the trash. The other one was drank. I suggest if you have to try Dip's for yourself, ensure you ask if the machines are working properly. Otherwise, you will receive a milkshake even if you didn't order it. It would be zero stars but google is forcing us to put one.

Me and my family were very excited to test out this ice cream store. When we got in there it felt very hostile and almost like if you were a costumer you didn’t belong. When we went up to them they almost seemed like they had no desire to tend to us. When we figured out what we wanted he seemed very frustrated to make milkshakes. This confused me because if you are working at an ice cream shop you should be expected to make milkshakes. Then after ordering we asked for another milkshake and we were denied. This is unacceptable and very childish. Especially because he was a grown man acting like a complete child just because of milkshakes. He made the environment feel very unwelcoming. We will not be coming back and we would advise you go to 2 scoops where the service is very respectful and the ice cream is very good. I'm so embarrassed on how I was treated by the owner tonight in front of my 10 year old son. There is a General Store with the Ice Cream store up front. We have been in both many times over the last few days. I go in tonight and get a gallon of milk and a bottle of wine while my son is picking out candy. I was then told I had to pay for the groceries in the back, ok no problem. I come to pay for the candy and the owner wouldn't touch my items. He Embarrassed me and told me to keep them because he saw me touch my nose. There were no masks required nor did he have one or gloves. Yep I took the $16.00 worth of candy because I knew he would just throw it away. He made me feel terrible and embarrassed me in front of other customers but...
