Sunrise Garden Resort on Anna Maria Island by Vacasa — Hotel in Anna Maria island

Stayed in unit 6 for 4 nights with my husband and daughter, we were actually shocked at the state of the sofa bed, its utterly disgusting and needs to go to the dump! It was covered in dirty brown stains and is so thin that we could feel every spring poking through, not to mention the noise out of it when you turn over. The master bed isnt overly comfortable either and is very small, plus they only provided 1 small pillow each, not even a 4th pillow, so if we'd of had our other child with us they'd of had no pillow, had to go to walmart to get more. We decided to drive down to the Vacassa office on Anna Maria to discuss with them the problem only to be met by signs on the door saying they do not accept any face to face contact! To ring the office number .. bit annoying as we are from the UK and our international phones couldnt make calls , so once we sorted the phone issue out, we then rang the number only to be put through to a central vacasssa call center in France! We explained the issue, they said they would contact the Anna Maria office and to wait to hear ....what a palava when we could of just popped into the office. Anyway, didnt hear anything, then the next day a lovely young man from Vacassa appeared at the unit (good job we were in as had no notification of him coming) carrying a blow up camp bed ! We told him thats not an acceptable alternative, we were'nt there camping and to be fair he agreed and said he had reported the camp bed numerous times to the unit owner who just keeps saying he'll sort it but doesnt. Vacassa then said they had told the owner to replace the sofa bed within 24hrs ...wasnt done...in the end our 4 days were finished (we hardly slept) in fairness to Vacassa they offered us some compensation, but i dont understand how they are allowing the owner to continue to rent this property, especially the price they charge. The bathroom was also run down, sink not sealed to the wall properly, no where to put your toiletries in the shower, everything has to sit on the floor. Oh, and as for the air con unit .. sounds like a fighter jet about to take off, extremely noisy! On the plus side, the pool is beautiful and the location, weve been coming to Anna Maria for 15 years and this is the worse accommodation weve ever stayed in, i would also not book with vacassa again only because its a pain to get in touch if something is wrong and then waiting for...

Good stuff out of the way. The resort is in a great location and my wife and I were able to bike or hop on the two close by trolleys to get around the island perfectly. The check in and out procedure was flawless and working with Vacasa was very easy. My family has been visiting the island for years and we don't normally say that. The negative. My wife and I rented this place for the cost and location. We knew this unit was small and that was okay. We just needed a place to escape the heat and sleep. However the AC in the unit struggles to keep the room below 80. The only way to keep it around 76 is to close all the blinds run the included box fans and keep the bathroom door shut at all times. Even then some nights were very hot. The bathroom has no air circulation and is over 90 in the middle of the day. Shower also had no pressure which meant trying to get in and out before you got to hot was next to impossible. The floor in front of the bathroom also seems to be giving away so that probably needs to be looked into. Parking was a mess in the beginning of our stay. Space 3 has a choke point in and out and we had the tenant under us parking wrong and blocking us and three other units on multiple occasions. One of them was during when I was trying to get my wife and I to our wedding pictures. Which was a huge issue finding the owner to move their vehicle. The shared pool looked very nice but was over crowded most of the stay and even had people outside the resort using it at night. Needs a key code or something to keep non guests out.

We did not contact Vacasa with our issues because honestly the unit just needs to be updated and us spending time on the phone would take away our time on the island. We are avid campers and just rolled with it but we would not stay at this...
