The sunrise is just as spectacular as the sunsets. The sand is often described as sugary but I believe that to be misleading. The sand is more of glorious white refined pure flower or powder there's very little if any texture at all. It holds warmth but it's never super hot. It's welcoming to sit on the beach and tuck your feet deep into the sand for the best treatment courtesy of mother nature. On the northern parts on the golf coast at Ana Maria Island you will find much less crowds. You have a ton of space to build a grandest of Sandcastles you've ever imagined. You and your three children can fly a kite and marvel as it dances in the wind with a beautiful blue sky meeting the most incredible Clearwater at the horizon. The surf is generally mild And makes for great walks along the beach. There are always a few downsides to any location you visit. One of the biggest at Ana Maria Island is cost. You will pay far more to stay in Ana Maria Island if you were to go further north to treasure Island or Madeira Beach or even St. Petersburg beach. Another downside which is somewhat comical if you're not starving The seagulls are super aggressive and they must've went to some kind of bird college because they are brilliant and they collaborate to get what they want. I cannot tell you the number of times I have walked with a sandwich in my hand and before I could even know what's happening a seagull distracted my vision to look to the left on the seagull to take the sandwich out of my hand. I have seen many times or seagulls land on someone's blanket whilst they're in the ocean and literally as if they were Birdy Houdini open baskets and beach bags and take bags of chips or anything they can get their hands on. The surf is generally smooth or slightly wavy but like any ocean front beach it can change rapidly. If you follow the directions that are very well posted everywhere on the island and exit the water as soon as you see dark clouds or the first time you feel any type of pool in the current you will be fine. But my warning… If you ignore an incoming storm or a change in the current you are putting yourself at risk because for all practical purposes there are not...

Anna Maria Island beach is truly a hidden gem on the Gulf Coast of Florida. With its pristine white sand, crystal clear turquoise waters, and stunning sunsets, it offers a picture-perfect setting for a beach getaway.

One of the standout features of Anna Maria Island beach is its peaceful and laid-back atmosphere. Unlike some of the more well-known Florida beaches, it is not overcrowded or touristy. Instead, it offers a tranquil haven where you can relax and unwind. Whether you're looking to soak up the sun, take a refreshing dip in the water, or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll along the shore, Anna Maria Island beach provides the ideal setting.

Another great aspect of this beach is its natural beauty. The sand is soft and powdery, making it perfect for building sandcastles or lounging in beach chairs. The water is incredibly clear, and you can often spot dolphins swimming along the shoreline. The lack of high-rise buildings and excessive development preserves the beach's natural beauty, allowing visitors to truly appreciate and connect with nature.

In addition to its stunning beauty, Anna Maria Island beach also offers plenty of activities for visitors to enjoy. You can go kayaking, paddleboarding, or parasailing in the calm waters, providing a sense of adventure for those seeking it. The island also has a thriving wildlife population, making it an excellent spot for bird watching or fishing.

Overall, Anna Maria Island beach is a fantastic destination for beach lovers looking for a peaceful and beautiful escape. Its pristine white sand, clear waters, and laid-back atmosphere offer the perfect setting for a relaxing vacation. Whether you're looking to sunbathe, swim, or explore the island's natural beauty, this beach has something...

The James is everything we hoped it would be! From the sparkling pool to the gorgeous sunsets on the rooftop..It’s absolutely beautiful, clean, new and wonderful! It was super spacious for 11 people…adults and young adults! Pros: LOVED the pool area; we brought a volleyball net and played volleyball! We also enjoyed watching the Olympics, hot tubbing and playing corn hole! We never played ping pong as it was in the garage (putting it on the patio would be great!). AMI’s communication is superb andthey want to be sure you are 100% happy! CONS: The pool alarms (especially when we have no young children in our group)…causes a lot of stress (when we are here to relax!🤣) It would be nice if it was an option to turn them off when there are no young kids. Also, bigger couch and more seating for the living room! We would definitely stay here again!...

Warning! Parking Issues & Fines - We love Anna Maria Beach BUT since the hurricane it seems the city folks don't have the "No parking " signs worked out so we saw signs that were poorly posted - way too high for the public to see, others that were too faded. As a result you could see rows and rows of ticketed cars with $50 fines. I guess that is one way to get money to rebuild after the hurricane but it seems a dishonest way for the City of Anna Maria to get $ from visitors. 😞😞😞
