Shiny Fish Emporium — Local services in Anna Maria island

During my recent visit to Anna Maria, visiting the Shiny Fish Emporium was at the top of my list. I had heard so many stories about what a fun shop it is! The rumors were true! This happy, whimsical store is filled with so many special items and beautiful must-haves. Plus, you can paint your own starfish! What a fun vacation memory! I found myself taking several laps around the shop, each time finding something new to admire. The store is beautiful and merchandise is displayed in such a way that you can't help but want to see more. The store also smells good and I late found out that they will be releasing a custom candle that captures the fragrance of the shop. The jewelry displays are stunning and filled with such a variety of treasures (for both adults and children). As a tourist, I loved the Florida-themed items (dishes, tea towels, shirts, and more). Sparkly Christmas ornaments hung from little branches near the doorway. Whimsical stationary, silly notecards, bath bombs, tropical scented body products, purses, and so much more filled the shelves. There's an entire section of the store dedicated to beautiful clothing (for adults, children, and infants). It was so much fun to sift through everything. There were so many brihgt and soft fabrics. Women were lined up trying things on in the fitting room. The cashier at the front was so sweet and patient, willing to answer questions and share more about the products in the store. There was a large table dedicated to high-end children's toys (brands like Tender Leaf, Maileg, etc.). I also noticed that mochi ice cream was available (but I didn't try it - next time!). I also did not have a chance to paint a sand dollar, though I really wanted to! I will definitely be back the next time...

My family and I have been coming to Anna Maria for years before my daughter was even born and we have never had a incident quit like this in the 10+ years we have been coming here. My daughter and her friend decided to go window shopping today, as teenage girls love to shop. My daughter was browsing around and picked up a speaker. As she browsed around the shop she misplaced it while looking at the clothes section showing her best friend pants. While my daughter was putting the pants away she was approached by a worker or the owner who asked where she had placed the item, as a teenage girl checking out clothes jewelry and bags it slipped her mind. The worker then began to dig at my daughter where this speaker went. Her friend browsing jewelry at the time began to pick up on what was happening after the women asked to go through my daughters bag! My daughter being stressed allowed this stranger to go through her bag where they found nothing! The woman after about 10 minutes of pestering my daughter and stressing her out finally apologized. As soon as I heard this story my first instinct was to try and protect my child but teenage girls will be teenage girls. I sat both girls down to try and get the full story as well as going through both girls bags and rooms throughly to make sure I got the truth. I'm very upset by the fact my daughter was blatantly accused of shop lifting and further more was asked to search her bag. If you have young girls make sure they don't go into this store unless you want your child's bag searched. This was a complete violation of a young...

The Shiny Fish Emporium is such a fun and unique spot on AMI! I visited with my nieces and nephews, and we had a great time painting sand dollars together. It was a super cute and creative activity that gave us a fun souvenir to take home. The only downside was that some of the paintbrushes were pretty worn out, but the kids didn’t seem to mind too much—they were just excited to make their own little masterpieces.

The store itself is adorable—bright, colorful, and full of personality. I loved browsing through the wide variety of gifts, beachy trinkets, and unique clothing items.
