Very disappointed in my experience on 12/20/2023. Went around noon with my husband for a quick lunch before having to pick up my kids from school. We sat on the bar side at a high table tucked in a corner near the entrance. The server was a nice and very chatty! Food was kinda bland and subpar! We had the lobster tail, crab dip, Greek salad, chicken and waffles and a few drinks. The drinks were nice!! Everything else was questionable, but we gave the benefit of the doubt until the chicken and waffles showed up. The Greek salad and cheese biscuits were the best part. The crab dip should’ve been better than what it tastes like. Which was mainly cream cheese after the top layer. The lobster tail and salad was what I had for my main course. The lobster was okay. I wish it had a better sauce to compliment the lobster. The salad was fresh and enough to share with my husband. Ugh… then my husband’s chicken and waffles show up. At a glance, they gave a large portion, and the chicken LOOKED crispy. My husband started out with the wing and leg. The waiter asked how our food was, my husband replied, “not the best I’ve had, it’s not sweet or savory, it could be better.” The serve said, “ we appreciate feed back” It helps us get better. I liked the response and agreed that it’s nice to take recommendations. My Husband then cut into the thigh. The thigh had some signs of not being full cooked. It was a lot of liquids coming from the chicken and reddish near the bone. I asked my husband to check the breast. The Breast of the chicken was completely raw. Raw raw raw . The skin was cooked only! The meat was pink and literally if you bought chicken from a store. We notified the waiter. He took the meal right away. Returned and explained why the chicken was undercooked. Shortly after we asked for the check. We were not sure what would happen. The check in full piece was as bought to us. No replacement or asked how could they improve our experience. Even if they gave us a small discount or removed the food, offered a replacement we would’ve still given the waiter the tip a wonderful tip because it was not his fault the chicken was raw. Instead we paid in full and left because we were tight for time. Immediately after I called the restaurant and left a message for the manager. Yesterday at 1357hrs 12/22/2023 I received a call, but unfortunately was at work with a patient and could not answer. No message was left. Today I returned the call to the manager’s voicemail. Just waiting for a reply now. I had high hopes for this location. Also believe it would be a nice place to go with a large party for a family event. Now I don’t know if I’ll ever return. I regret not taking a...
Read moreFirst-Time Visit to The Lodge - Blown Away! From the moment we walked in, our experience at The Lodge was absolutely incredible. We were warmly welcomed by a wonderful hostess whose glowing personality immediately set the tone for the evening—so warm and inviting! The food was beyond amazing and generous portions—truly a memorable experience. We started with crafted mocktails that were so refreshing and perfectly balanced—not loaded with sugary syrups like most places. They were made with fresh-cut fruits and tasted like they were created with real care. To our surprise and delight, they also brought out complimentary biscuits, which were freshly baked, light, and absolutely delicious. As for the meal—wow. I had to personally compliment Chef Alex because the food was that impressive! Every dish we ordered was crafted with such skill and attention to detail. My mother and I started with the duck fat fries, and I am still talking about them. They were crisped to absolute perfection—not greasy or oily at all—and seasoned just right. For my entrée, I ordered the Chesapeake Pasta with shrimp, crab, and a lobster cream sauce. It was phenomenal—rich in flavor without being heavy or oily like so many cream-based pastas tend to be. I could truly taste the chef’s expertise in every bite. My mother ordered the shrimp and scallops with risotto, and I sampled her dish—perfection. The scallops were cooked impeccably with a great sear and tender inside, seasoned beautifully. She also had the sample Caesar salad, which was so fresh and light—the dressing was just "kissed" onto the greens so that every bite had flavor without being overwhelming. For dessert, we tried both the apple bread pudding and the mixed berry cobbler—DO NOT leave without ordering these! The bread pudding was my personal favorite—warm, comforting, fresh, and not overly sweet. The berries in the cobbler tasted like they had just been picked that morning—bright, juicy, and so fresh. A huge thank you to our server Kailey, who was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and attentive as we took our time scanning the menu on our first visit. Manager Anthony even came by to check on us and make sure we were having a great experience—such a thoughtful touch that made us feel truly cared for. The atmosphere, food, and service all came together to create one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We will absolutely be returning. Highly, highly recommend! I took mostly videos which I can’t upload but dessert...
Read moreI went to The Lodge Annapolis for dinner tonight with my husband. I had high expectations as I had seen a lot of good reviews on Instagram and it looked like a cute place. We had reservations and told the hostes that we had reservations and gave our name, to which she sharply replied that we would have to sit at a high top because all of the tables were reserved. My husband and I looked at each other kind of confused, we were fine with a high top, but we did have reservations, which the other hostess pointed out too. The first hostess told us that was all she could do and took us to a high top. It was about 10 minutes before we got to put our drink orders in. It was about another 10 minutes before we got offered water and were able to put our appetizers in at this time we got asked what drinks we ordered initially. About 10 minutes after that, we got our initial drink orders and ordered our entrees. About 15 minutes later, our entrees arrived. We asked about our appetizer our waitress asked what appetizers? We told her what we had ordered and said, if it hadn't been started, we didn't really want it any more, since we had already gotten our main course, and she said she would check. 20 minutes later our appetizer came out, and it wasn't very good. The entrees and drinks however were pretty good.
My husband got the lamb shank and an old fashion. He said both were delicious. I got a stellar gin and tonic and my entree was the Snake Bite Pasta. The pasta was good, but very smoky, which I wasn't expecting. The (after dinner) appetizer we got was the fried green tomatoes with crab added. They were incredibly overcooked, the fried coating was very hard and the tomatoes had turned to just mush. We had ordered them with the lump crab option, which was an additional $14 and it came with about a table spoon of crab meat spread out across 6 tomato slices. If you shoot your shot and decide to order the fried green tomatoes, I recommend skipping the crab option as you're definitely not getting your money's worth. We did end up getting the tomatoes comped since they arrived so late and were inedible.
We may return to give it another chance since the entrees and drinks were good, but we will likely give it a while to work out the...
