I've been here for over a year now and I can say with confidence this is a great apartment complex for people of all ages and the best apartment I've ever lived in (I've been in over 6 different apartments over the last 6 years). Great location and staff, amenities are awesome, and the managers and maintenance staff are always improving the place.
Any maintenance issues were resolved the same day (usually within a few hours) that I submitted a request. Small things like the door not latching properly and my dryer belt snapped. A cleaning company comes weekly and clean all the hallways, elevators, and clubhouse. A landscaping company also comes weekly - the grass stayed green and luscious even through the winter.
The grounds and apartments are BEAUTIFUL and well kept. Constantly adding and improving to the complex. For example, agility equipment and shade added to the dog park and fob access to the mail room since I've been here. The pool is very large and beautiful with ping pong and bags area, lots of cabanas for hanging out (and fans!) and a gas firepit. There's also 2 other outdoor mixed use areas in the courtyards behind the apartments. One has a gazebo with a fireplace and sitting area, plus a larger firepit and 2 charcoal grills. The other has 2 large gas grills, lots of seating, a large artificial grass area with ping pong, bags and space to run around, plus a large gazebo with lights and seating.
The clubhouse is spacious and cozy, with an espresso machine (my favorite!), pool, a study room, a gym, and a table top shuffle board. Plus lots of TV's too and it always smells so refreshing which I appreciate. There is also a dog wash/grooming station. I feel very proud to bring people here.
We have parcel lockers which most deliveries come to, with an app we use to open them. There are a few occasions where deliveries are left on the floor, but usually that's express overnight. Amazon and UPS almost always leave them in the lockers. I did have someone steal a package left on the floor one time (jokes on them, it was a set of potty pads for my dogs lol). There are cameras in the room, I could have filed a police report, but amazon replaced the package for me and since then I have had no issues.
We have an issue with people stealing things from unlocked cars at night, and they've partnered with the Apex Police department to have an Apex police officer live on site and they host safety seminars regularly to help people learn how to prevent theft (NO no one is going around BREAKING into peoples cars, just lock your cars at night, come on people). I feel very safe here and have had zero issues. You get petty thefts like this no matter where you live.
They host community events about 3 times a month and invite local food trucks 2 to 3 times a month as well. The community events are fun and usually have food!
I love the natural beauty at this complex as well. The color scheme of the building blends into the wooded area behind the complex. We are Right on a greenway trail that's about 2 miles long with baseball fields, outdoor exercise equipment, tennis courts, and a playground. Plus fishing and kayak/paddle board access! We are so close to everything, yet feel secluded. I can hear the bugs chirping at night, and the birds singing in the morning.
Ignore the negative one star reviews about noise complaints, I've heard some people late at night talking and laughing loudly after 10 pm. The building height and woods cause the sound to amplify. It doesn't bother me personally, but we do have some older folks and parents with kids who live here so I can see how that would bother them. When you live in an apartment, you have to be mindful of other people you share the space with. And don't take offense if you get a noise complaint, the manager is just doing her job to keep everyone happy. This is just proper apartment living etiquette.
I hope you will give The Peak a try! I fell in love with it the second I stepped foot on the grounds even after looking at over 30 other complexes...
Read moreJust moved into Meridian this past weekend. So far it has been an absolute nightmare. First, there was confusion regarding our storage unit. We were told that our unit would be on the same floor as our apartment. When we arrived this was not the case which made the move that much more difficult. We were told that we could call the office on Monday to have it straightened out. That’s Great! The move was on Saturday. Now comes the fun part. Getting our cable/internet switched over with Spectrum. A spectrum employee came out a few days ago. We were told then that he could not set up things properly because he couldn’t get into the “cable room”. The main office was closed by this point and nothing could be done. A simple heads up on that would have been appreciated. Today another individual from Spectrum came out to connect things. I was home this time as it was the one day I had off this week. After two hours of trying to get things connected the spectrum rep tells me that there is a problem with the main cable line and that it has been cut therefore I’m still without cable/internet. He waited patiently while I called the front office. No answer. What is the point of having a main office phone line if it is as far as I can tell is never answered? The spectrum rep personally walked to the front office to explain what the issue in connection was receiving little to no help. My wife called the main office, no answer. She waits a bit and calls again. She is told that she has to wait until Stacia is there and she would receive a call back. Eventually, she is called back and is told that we wouldn’t be able to get an answer prior to maintenance being contacted. Why weren’t they contacted before calling us back? So now, I’m still sitting in my apartment with no cable/internet. I have been contacted by no one and I’m on the lease. The issue has not been resolved. We are being told that hopefully it can be by the end of the week. I am hopeful as well. I’m hopeful that from this point forward we will be provided with what was promised prior to signing the lease. Also, that the poor communication from management is improved. This was not how I wanted to start my stay at Meridian Apartments and concerns...
Read moreIt's pretty and there are granite countertops, if you're into that it's a great place. The staff have always been friendly. However, the major point of a "luxury" apartment complex are the amenities. This entire COVID thing has been rough on everyone but no price reduction although we had no access to so many amenities this entire time is ridiculous. Every other service I was paying for offered payment stops, reduction of rates, or a freeze or something while I could not use services. Here they offered nothing. It tells you exactly how they feel about residents. The gym is currently opened 9am-5pm or something like that. Not many of us can even make those times. They say they are doing it so they can clean often, but a friend that can go to the gym currently says they are always out of cleaning wipes, so I doubt they actually care about safety. I'm really overall sick of this place. I can't even change my own air filter because it's behind a locked door in my apartment (still a part of my square footage) and because of COVID they stopped doing basic services for an extended amount of time. Another reason I moved here is because it's a smoke free community... maybe they forgot to tell some of their residents? You can walk past some apartments and tell they smoke indoors and when people just walk behind a building to smoke... apparently it's ok because you can't see them. I am outdoors a lot, and in the past week I have passed stepped in dog poo on the sidewalk (was dark and I wasn't expecting it there) and nearly stepped in several other piles. Overall I understand things happen, but I consistently have a lot of small complaints, and over time they add up. Basically, if your idea of luxury is granite countertops and fake wood floors ...and not much else. It's a great place. If you like to hold your apartment complex accountable and expect reasonable circumstances I suggest going elsewhere. Unless you want to take over my lease so I can go somewhere else... in that case, oh gee gosh this...
