Me and my grandmother hadn't been to the new Globe Life stadium since it's opened. She's a huge fan of the Rangers team (I don't think she misses a game on TV), but due to the pandemic; we didn't feel like it was very safe to take someone over 80 years old to a game. So after the season was over for the Rangers this year, I took her out to see the stadium through this tour.
We ended up taking the 'Premium' tour (which was the only option at the time); which gives you the regular tour plus some time on the outfield.
I think it cost me around $90 for two people (after taxes), but this feels like something that would be on Groupon so I'd check there before paying full price like I did.
I bought the tickets through the MLB website and it suggested that I download a separate MLB ticket app so I could load/show these tickets from my MLB account (I don't think it's necessary, but this is what I did).
BTW, parking is free (in Lot B) when there's no games/events going on at the time and you enter through the stadium doors facing the 7-11 at Texas Live! (there's a sign posted).
Anyhow, our tour guide was super friendly and knowledgeable about the Rangers history and their many stadiums (I'm sorry, but I forgot her name).
She would take pictures for us and even got my grandmother a wheelchair so she wouldn't have to walk the whole stadium (yes, you walk the entire circumference of the stadium so wear your walking shoes).
You'll get to see some private clubs and backstage areas of the stadium (though we never got to see the locker rooms, suites, or the dugouts).
During our visit we happened to get to meet the voice of the Rangers on the radio, Eric Nadel, which our guide was more than happy to introduce us to.
Overall, this was a nice little way to spend an afternoon and see the stadium. But if you've been to the stadium before, unless you want to play catch and take photos on the outfield there isn't much reason to spend over $30 a person to take the tour since most of it takes place in the main...
Read moreWe took the extended tour. It was 90 minutes. Possibly the biggest waste of our time and money. We walked the concourses on all of the levels. Our tour guide had a small microphone but we couldn’t hear a word because the music was so loud. We basically saw the concession stands and a restaurant. As part of our tour we would be seated behind the Rangers dugout and watch batting practice. We arrived just as the Rangers were walking off the field. We missed it! What a...
Read moreI haven't seen a live game in years, new stadium is gorgeous and card only. I didnt get any peanuts or crackers jacks but the home team won against the L.A. Angels, we had 2 nachos, the stand at the 120s section is better than the large stand near the 130s. Cotton candy was classically sweet, we caused a tsunami.with 3 full crowd waves. Also if you buy on seat geek, just skip it and buy from the MLB app, you'll have to sync...
