If I could give this food negative stars, I certainly would. We spent a staggering $172 for six people, and what we received was a complete disappointment. Our order included 1 lb of brisket, sausage, 1 lb of ribs, 1/2 chicken, and turkey, along with baked beans, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and potato salad.
To start, the lack of plates was a major inconvenience. Trying to eat as a family of six became a challenge when all we had were greasy paper wraps, which made sharing the food nearly impossible. The ribs were dry and disappointingly thin, with hardly any meat to speak of. The turkey had decent flavor but was also dry. Then there was the brisket—an absolute disaster. It was a greasy mess, so fatty that it was practically inedible. The bread, wrapped with the meat, ended up being a soggy, smashed wafer that crumbled at the first touch of grease.
I've never wasted so much food in my life, and I have two teenage boys who usually eat anything. Even they turned their noses up at this meal.
The baked beans were an odd combination of picante sauce and beans—definitely not a flavor I would recommend. The macaroni and cheese was your average fare; it's hard to mess that up, but the communal serving led to double-dipping, which was less than ideal. The coleslaw was watered down, and the potato salad lacked any discernible flavor.
To top it all off, the fountain drink machine was out of flavoring for lemonade, diet Dr. Pepper, and Coke, leaving us with nothing but unflavored carbonated water.
Given that the rest of the venue was closed for a private event, this was our only dining option. In hindsight, we should have just waited to enter the baseball park. This experience was far from worth the...
Read moreQuick Summary: Way too expensive for way too little food!!!Feels like a big rip off!! Got sick!
——— Walking in and looking at the prices you think “Wow this is pretty great deal!” and then you get barely any meat. For half a pound of ribs you get 2, as in 2 pieces. For a pound it’s 4 pieces, and it’s about 38$?! When i asked if they could put the ribs back, because i can’t afford too spend that much money. I felt so judged for not wanting to spending 89$ in total on my food, genuinely felt like everyone was looking at me, even the people in the back. I also ordered the brisket which was literally 50% fatty, and dry and not even good fatty, just pure fat. The mac and cheese and the deviled eggs are fairly good, not the best. And finally the silliest complaint but they literally give you just pieces of white wonder bread, Like out of the bag. Also, when they weigh your food they don’t even show you much it actually ways, which feels extremely deceiving? How do i know if they are actually charging me for a pound, or a half pound or whatever? Maybe it’s just because it’s located next to the stadium that it’s priced up so much, but in all honesty if you’re looking for good barbecue you won’t find it here. It’s extremely expensive for mid quality food. You’re better off going somewhere else.
EDIT* My boyfriend and i haven’t felt good at all since we ate their yesterday, we might have food poisoning. We have felt extremely queasy and been sick since after we ate...
Read moreI’ve had my share of bad bbq and good, like franklins, Texas BBQHouse Mobile, heck even Sonny’s bbq! This place is awful, bbq sauce was so dark tasting and over powering. Gator salad was again odd tasting. Meats were dry but of course it’s a Monday night so I’m sure the meat was left over from the weekend.. one in the party got ribs, they gave him two bones that I know did not weight much of anything, dry as well. Also, you order a pork sandwich, no bun like a normal restaurant would serve, they give you chopped pork rolled up in butcher paper and the bread is two slices of the already stale bread they give for each meal, wrapped up again in the paper. How inviting is this, now you must build your own sandwich. Come on guys, go visit some other stores and see how they do things. It’s not rocket science, it’s serving a good product where people eat with their eyes first.. Serving on butcher paper is ok, but please dont wrap each meat up and then not give us a tray to carry everything… now we have a table full of butcher paper unwrapped to get up and toss before we take the first bite. Brisket and turkey dry dry dry.. Do better Texas! Sign says inside, don’t mess with Texas, well, you mess up some good Texas bbq… I have traveled the United States and Canada, trying Que as well as smoked my own at home as well and this place is failing big time..
