I am writing to express my concerns about the circumstances surrounding my recent termination. While the official reason provided was tardiness, I firmly believe that the actual motivation behind my dismissal stemmed from a broader issue rooted in interpersonal dynamics and biases within the management team.
Throughout my time at Loews I have made a consistent effort to perform my duties professionally and uphold the values of this organization. However, I recently received a disciplinary notice for not smiling at Mr. Carl Rogers, the Director. This write-up struck me as an indication that management had created a narrative that I am not personable. I am concerned that this perception has been used to build a case against me that is not based on my work performance but rather on selective judgment.
Furthermore, I have encountered several issues with members of the management team that I feel have contributed to a negative work environment. Specifically, I feel that Tatiana, my supervisor, has fostered unnecessary drama among coworkers by spreading misinformation about me, further impacting how I am perceived by my colleagues. I have also noticed that Shaun, another member of the team, consistently chooses not to greet or acknowledge me, yet does so with others. This uneven treatment has contributed to an atmosphere of exclusion and tension. Additionally, Luis often presents an unapproachable demeanor and tends to make employees feel as if their inquiries are a burden, which only adds to the strained dynamics.
It is also evident that there are issues with communication and clarity from management, particularly at the host stand. The guidance we receive often changes, leading to confusion and frustration between me and my coworkers. While I have appreciated the benefits and perks provided by this company, I believe that significant improvements is needed in the management approach to foster a more supportive and cohesive work environment.
I understand that organizations have high standards for their employees, and I have been more than willing to meet the standards.Ive gotten good reviews from guest. However, I feel that my termination was not based on objective criteria but rather on a subjective assessment and false narrative influenced by miscommunication and personal bias against me.I hope this letter provides some insight into the challenges I faced and the other host have and the broader issues that I believe need attention for the benefit of current and...
Read moreI liked working at Lowe’s and truly enjoyed my interactions with the guests, as well as working with all the teammates. They made the work environment more enjoyable. However, I did choose to resign due to a disorganized and frustrating work atmosphere.
Management frequently required us to retrain on policies without notice and would enter the restaurant to shop us without any heads-up. Their standoffish demeanor made it clear they felt superior, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere where it felt like we couldn’t approach them. This dynamic made the surprise shopping feel even more awkward, as they would watch us without offering any support or guidance, adding to the tension.
They held high expectations for us to always smile and provide perfect service, yet many acted superior, making comments about staff to other managers instead of addressing us directly.
The rules often changed randomly, with one manager saying one thing while another said something completely different, leading to confusion.
Although there were group meetings, they didn’t really help because the things we talked about were rarely put into practice to make our work environment better.
It was frustrating that management often had attitudes and spoke to us in a condescending tone when they themselves appeared confused and overwhelmed.
Their stress was evident, and it was clear that they lacked effective leadership skills.
In an environment where my leaders cannot provide guidance and support, it becomes difficult to succeed.
While I appreciate the company and the guests, management needs to prioritize keeping the restaurant running smoothly rather than constantly assuming we aren’t doing our jobs.
This lack of effective communication and support most definitely led to my decision to leave. I would not recommend applying as...
Read moreThis is such a hard review, because the food was absolutely incredible... But in so many ways this place was struggling. Our main waiter was great, but every other employee (including the manager that stoped by our table) looked confused, awkward, and disorganized moving about the restaurant. Even the hostesses seemed confused and disorganized seating people, and we even had a reservation. Multiple plates broken by staff. We came to celebrate our anniversary dinner, and found it an odd atmosphere that at a high end restaurant people were in flip flops, sweaty jerseys, etc... I think initiating a dress code would help the atmosphere step up a notch and in a hotel like this, that's not unreasonable. Oh, and we found it funny, but honestly it's a little embarrassing/sloppy, but the manager came to our table with our desert and added a candle and said happy birthday to us.. we were celebrating but clearly our anniversary not our birthday.
All that being said, the food was high quality, fresh, and delicious. We had the spicy pizza to start and the crust was perfect! Great flavor profile. The cocktails we ordered (including the margarita and volcania) were very bitter which we didn't like, but others may enjoy the stronger taste. They were presented well. We also had the oven fired prawns and the orange beat salad. Both excellent. The only issue being that the salad was supposed to have pistachios, and they forgot them. This would've added to the overall flavor combo a lot, but still not disappointed. We had the hazelnut cake for dessert and it was very rich and quite...
