Carts look and operate like they’ve been through war. Bathrooms are unusable and like something out of a war zone too. Prayer area is very dirty at all times. There’s a huge lack of إحسان in the major aspects that are supposed to distinguish this place, which ends up making the kuffar look better organized and more well intentioned than us and embarrasses the ummah. Ummah aside, it embarrasses our Arabic culture. Otherwise this is a good place to get meat and bread, along with a few other essentials. Inshallah they one day see the need to improve the environment in the store for those it matters most for, and to be an example for the community. There is much progress needing to be made. It’s sad to see this place in such rough shape when I imagine there are plenty of resources for them to make improvements to it with. Particularly facilities we all use within the store. I have been bringing my own carpet because the prayer room gives me acne anytime I pray in it without one.
Regarding what to shop for, they seem to turnover chicken/beef, bread, and cheese the fastest, so those are always safe bets. Good selection of rice, but you need to read the expiration on everything else in particular because I’ve bought expired items on several occasions accidentally and been very disappointed. They need to be auditing their own items regularly to rotate items and make sure that whatever isn’t being turned over doesn’t end up cheating anyone in the future who buys it after sitting on the shelf for a long time. This seems to be a common thing among friends and family of mine who also shop here for Halal needs. Other than that, inshallah you find what you need. I recommend using the hand baskets due to the reliability of the carts being very spotty.
Edit: they recently upgraded the carts to much newer ones that are in good condition. Mashallah, I’m glad this improvement was made as it was one of the biggest problems in the past. Inshallah they make renovate or improve their bathroom next as it has been falling...
Read moreI was very disappointed today. I live about an hour away from the store and I called about 545 pm to order some 10 lbs of ground goat. A lady answered the phone and put me through to a gentleman who confirmed that the ground goat is in stock and will have it ready. So I got there by 645pm and went straight to the meat section and asked if my order was ready. The guy said nobody instructed him to get anything ready. I asked to please get it ready while I wait. He said we are already closed and can’t do anything about it. It was 645 pm and the meat section closed at 7pm.
Seems like there is always a problem with that meat section and the employees there are quite unhelpful! Every time I ask for ground goat I am told it’s not in stock and to call ahead to order. I really hope the owner addresses this...
Read moreToday 09/03 /2022 I went to the store looking for an item and the cashier, had no name tag but she was a very fair/white in complexion middle eastern girl in her early 20s with a cream colored head hijab and strip shirt with cream colored sweat pants.
She was very rude and dismissive while chewing with a mouth full of cookies and with an I don’t care voice while looking down at me “I don’t know what that is ask someone else.”
I have shopped at this store since 2010 but the level of customer service has deteriorated overtime. The meat they sell is overpriced and comprised mainly of white stuff.
We are now in 2022 and with so many other halal stores in Arlington and the DFW area with better products and customer service, I think it’s time for me to stop dealing...
