Unwelcoming, rude, unprofessional.
News flash. This isn't Rodeo Drive, ladies. I drove a half hour to consign a TRUNK LOAD of my spring season, dry cleaned Michael Kors, Banana, Chanel, Gucci, Kate, Louis, Ann Taylor, Saks, Tory, some Lulu, and Northface and Patagonia outerwear light jackets. Everything was freshly pressed on hangers. (That, I found out is a big no-no. No hangers allowed.)
The ladies saw me in my workout gear, ponytail, running errands look. As a first timer, I was given the appalling "DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT?! It's Tueeeeeeeesday! We don't even consign on Tuesdays typically!" greeting. Followed by "WELL, (sigh) what brands do you have?" In shock, I just stood there. Looking at them. I said, "I just drove a half hour. I lost 60 lbs! This is my first time here. I saw you have lots of great reviews and thought I'd give you a try. (In my friendliest, outgoing voice) Do you just want to take a look?" They said they'd get to me when they could, in the most dismissive, judgmental tone and gave me THE LOOK - you know... the bulging eyeballs look? I haven't experienced that glare since middle school.
Big mistake. Huge.
I'm now driving directly to donate these items to Dress for Success. Regardless of how you judged me today (gals working on TUEEEESDAY 2/25/25 at 2:00ish), I'm a Creative Director that has excellent style. I have worn these pieces to present to top level clients across the globe. I hope you use this as constructive feedback to never treat another human like that again.
The clothes I saw in there were meh. Demographic 60+. Nice handbag and wallet selection. Jewelry was okay? I guess? Minimal. Rings look like they've been there for 15 years.
And the candle you're burning in your store made me want to gag.
After waiting for 15 min, I finally walked out. My stuff NEVER MADE IT OUT OF THE TRUNK. I'm glad though. They didn't deserve...
Read moreA few people went home absolutely thrilled I can only assume; not so great for the consignor. I dropped off three brand new, never been worn before, Sperry boots that are currently being sold on Poshmark for $50-$90, on sale online for $70 and she sold them for 38 freaking dollars?! What were you thinking?? I sure wish I could’ve found these boots for $38! “Price to move is what I got”. And the consignor is only getting 40% of the sale. It’s ridiculous any one of those items could’ve sold for $50 and would’ve still been a steal for any buyer. You should also be loyal to your consignors, we’re the one’s filling your store. I could’ve sold them online for $20 and would have made more money back! What can I say, pretty disappointed they under sold my valuable items. I won’t be delving out any more items to the store. I dropped off several other nice items, Columbia vest with tags still on it, and when I ask for the breakdown they get real shy, they just want you to take your little check and get on out. Who knows what things are even sold for because that price is so unbelievable I’m left to wonder. It was much less than...
Read moreI was attempting to enjoy dinner at Texas Road House with my family for my oldests birthday but my 1 year old became too fussy and wiggly to sit there and enjoy. So my little one and I went out for a walk. We ended up at Olde Town Exchange because its right across the street and the patio is fenced in. (It was after hours) and my LO was exploring the patio when owner Nancy arrived to do some cleaning maintenance out front. She was sooooo kind and generous! She entertained my LO for a few, chuckled at strugglings raising a toddler, and even brought out a box of toys from the store to keep him engaged.
This struck such a cord for me because she took time out of her busy day to make me and my little one feel welcome.
I have driven past this store hundreds of times but have never stepped foot in, however because of the simple kindness Nancy displayed, I plan to return and shop! I am excited to discover a new go to store and support such a great woman...
