New Review (July 7th, 2025): It looks like most of the service issues has been resolved after my initial review 2 years ago. As a foodie, I'd say that this restaurant has been my new go-to for Korean food in Westminster.
Previous review:
My colleagues and I recently had an experience at Bonchon Westminster, a restaurant conveniently located near our office. Upon arrival, we were informed that seating was self-service, so we seated ourselves outside. Regrettably, this choice resulted in a considerable delay, as we found ourselves waiting for 30 minutes, parched and overlooked, despite our attempts to attract the attention of the staff.
Following this prolonged period of inattention, we placed our order: a starter of pork buns, main courses of fried rice and boneless wings. Yet, the service did not improve. The pork buns, our appetizer, arrived after another tedious 20-minute wait. By the time they arrived, our excitement had dissipated substantially.
The service then took a frustrating turn. Within a 40-minute timeframe since placing our order, we were approached more than twice to settle the bill, despite the fact that our main courses were still conspicuously absent. Once our chicken rice finally arrived, we found it disappointingly cold, which significantly undermined the taste quality.
Five minutes later, an unexpected development arose. The staff informed us that they had run out of chicken wings, necessitating a change in our order. This was a surprising revelation, considering it was 40 minutes after we ordered. The replacement dish, chicken strips, were delivered 10 minutes later.
In conclusion, while the food was acceptable, it would likely have been much more enjoyable if served hot. The most significant drawback, however, was the substandard service. The restaurant was not attentive to our needs in a timely manner, leading to a disappointing dining experience at Bonchon...
Read moreService was extremely slow while we were there, I get this location is new but the restaurant was only half filled on a weekend there should have been enough staff we waited about 20 min at our table before someone even came to ask for drinks or an order. No one ever came to check up on the table the hour we were there until we flagged someone down.
The food was.. decent we got wings and the chicken Katsu as well as the Pork buns. The sauces for the wings are good I like the Soy Garlic a tad more than the Spicy but both are good. The Katsu was the best of all the food we got and the pork buns would be good if it wasn't for my biggest gripe with the restaurant, the coleslaw. Why is this even on the menu it doesn't pair well with anything on the menu so far and it comes with everything, it's on the pork buns and came with both dishes. It's not good and detracted from everything else my partner and I had about 1-2 bites of it and didn't touch it again. Also I don't know if the kimchi is made in house or not but for a Korean food place it's by far the worst I've had in Denver so far.
Anyways I would say give it a try maybe you'll like it but for me it was a massive disappointment and won't...
Read moreThis was my first visit to any Bon Chon. It took several minutes for a server to come to the table but when they arrived they recorded my order correctly. I ordered the udon noodle soup with bulgolgi, pork buns, and season fries. The udon soup was brought first. The broth was very hot and so flavorful. The udon had a nice chew and the bulgogi combined with the flavors of the soup well. A few minutes later the pork buns and fries came out. The pork’s buns were larger than I was expecting and tasty. Although I think it would have tasted better with a vinegar based coleslaw. The coleslaw was very tasty but made the dish seem heavy with the mayonnaise. The fires were very well seasoned and double crispy. All the food has fresh and served hot. I enjoyed the flavors. I agree the prices seem high but I felt like the portions were more generous than I was expecting. I took half my fries and udon with me. My favorite dish so far was the udon so I will come back to try other items. The service was adequate but not phenomenal but I think it is worth...
